Seems like you're purposely dismissing some facts here.Wanting Manziel and intending on drafting him are not the same. I’m not denying Jerry wanted Manziel.

Business as usual for him. I have to assume he’s just a miserable human being. That must suck balls.
Romo has just signed a new contract in 2013. It would make no sense to draft his heir apparent in 2014. It was all hoopla for the media and Jerry not wanting to potentially look the fool for passing on Manziel.
I’m not able to copy the DMN and don’t have ability to look for the local affiliates who aired the interview. I’m not sure who aired it.
Believe what you will but that’s not what some of the local beat reported. It was mostly hyped for the media as I stated. And Jerry’s interview confirmed. Now you are playing semantics. When the 16th pick came, Jerry wanted to use it for Manziel and went around the war room trying to drum up support so he could take Manziel. Few, if any backed him, so he reluctantly went with Martin.
Stephen and Jerry have basically both confirmed this. So no, this wasn't fake news. Jerry wanted to draft Manziel at 16, couldn't get the support he needed/wanted so he could take him, so he went with the room's decision. It's all well documented and confirmed at this point.

My thing is who cares. Would we have won less super bowls if we took Johnny Manziel?I am believing ACTUAL FACTS.
Explain this to me. Why, years after the draft went down, do Jerry and Stephen still confirm this story? I mean Jerry doens't have to worry about the fact Manziel turned out to be a stud. If anything, since Manziel crapped out and Martin is arguably the best OG in football, Jerry wouldn't want people to know he backed a loser.
And yet Jerry pretty much continues to admit he wanted Manziel.
Your logic here makes zero sense. It's almost pathological that you can't admit you were wrong and just move on. You are literally arguing against actual factual evidence at this point.
What’s your point? Jerry listened to the input of others and went with them. He could’ve just ignored them and picked Manuel, but he didn’t. That simply proves he doesn’t just do what he wants to do.
I believe in Jerry’s interview and what some of the local beat writers were saying. I’ve always felt they were closer to the situation than these national affiliates.I mean shoot, it's only quotes from the two guys involved in the situation - Jerry and Stephen. What kind of evidence is that?

Fake news to me is spinning facts to support an opinion or narrative. As I stated above. I’m not denying the report you attached. You are missing the point.
DieHard called the Manziel/Martin story fake news. I am telling him it's not fake news and provided him with the information from many confirmed stories. That's it. It's really that simple. There is no need for you to read into it in the bizarre way you seemingly have.
I hear you but we are arguing about something that doesn't matter. I mean what if taking Johnny manziel created a ripple effect that would have had the rebuilding process earlier. We don't know. Yes as an individual player standpoint it worked out, but we didn't go to superbowls with martin either.Just correcting someone who is spreading a false story. That's it.

Again, I’m not denying these statements Jerry and Stephen made . And not denying that Jerry was interested in Manziel but as was reported by some closer to the situation it was more hype than reality which I believe.
They thought Stephen and McClay made the picks while jerry was passed out drunk in the corner.Jerry is still the GM, for better or worse. He listened to the others and made a decision. Sometimes your employees are able to convince you to change your mind, other times you go with your decision.
I guess the video may be surprising to folks who convinced themselves that Jerry had delegated all football decisions to his son, but I never bought that theory in the first place. Nothing to see here.

Love these glimpses into the organizational dysfunction. I think we pretty much avoid any situation that requires a quick decision b/c there isn't enough to time explain it jerry to AND build consensus.
