I am NOT suggesting he is a bust, but I didn’t think he was that great last year at G for a second rounder. I think he is better suited to play OT, and I hope he plays great regardless of where they play him.

Having said that, he seems to not have enough strength to play G, and he may have some challenges at T.

I think he’s a 50/50 player to “make a hand” at one position or the other. That’s not great odds, compared to how spoiled we have been at drafting OL over the past several years.

Williams isn't even 22 yet, and last year he was playing one of the top 3 power positions in football, which was a new position for him. That's a tough row to hoe.

Tyron was a half year older as a rookie, but didn't make a pro bowl until 23. Had to work on technique, and hadn't filled out yet. Same with Frederick. Martin made All Pro his rookie season. At 24.

Very hard for a LG to have developed enough power by 21 to compete at an NFL level. Yet by the end of the season, Williams was doing it fine. A month or two ago, they said he had put on 10 lbs of muscle. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes pro bowl at 23 like the rest of them.

I suspect one of the reasons why Connor McGovern was drafted was the questionable future that Connor Williams has demonstrated. Another reason is the uncertainty as to whether or not Travis Fredericks can return to his former self. The Cowboys offensive coaches will be challenged.

Another admittedly more remote question has to do with Kellen Moore's performance as our newly installed OC. Here's hoping such doubts are answered in a positive way by those involved. These things promise to demand our interest, and the undivided attention for those individuals. ;)

If we move him to RT and expose his weaknesses he’ll probably bust.

Leave him at G and he’ll be good.

over 50 percent of 1sr round picks are busts...he was a and round pick which is even less likely to pan out so yes that is an accurate statement
