I will not be surprised if the five corners we keep on the 53 are Awuzie, Jones, Decoud, Jackson and Westry. And that Brown and Lewis are traded sometime during training camp when needs arise for other teams at the corner position.

Lewis had like 10 tackles.
That's a good sign. He doesn't sit there and watch ppl catch the ball like the rest of our secondary. Had 1 int, 1 pbu and 2 fr's in that limited amount of time. PFF grades based on play not stats

Richard is an outstanding coach as evidenced by the improved play of our secondary last year. we have no idea what will happen in 2019, a season yet to be played. lewis might become our premiere corner. jones might repeat as a pro bowler. que sera, sera. quien sabe? parcells liked big lb's and o-linemen. the template worked for him. jimmy liked speed. the template worked for him.

Our secondary might have played better but it's just putting lipstick on a pig. Still don't create any turnovers and stand around watching the other team catch the ball.

Right, because he's no tall enough to make a play on the ball and it goes over his head. 10 tackles is never a good sign. Neither is one pass break up. I just don't see how you can realistically compare when they didn't play the same number of snaps.

With the addition of two new cornerbacks, it seems Kris Richard's preference for tall, long corners is taking shape on the Cowboys' roster.

He likes 'em long with long arms. So much for Lewis. That's Jordan, not Carl :muttley:

I mean byron had 10x as many snaps had 67 tackles, 14 pbu's, 0 int, 0 ff, 0 fr
Chido had 8x more snaps. 71 tackles, 11 pbu's, 1 int, 1 fr, 0 ff
Imagine if that kid had the amount of snaps chido had.

I love picks as much as the next guy, but many times they're attributable to an intense pass rush. history has proven any nfl qb who has 7 seconds to stand in the pocket can pick apart any group of d-backs. Marinelli, not Richard, is the problem with our defense. at least in my opinion.

Yeah, the percentages go down.

I think so. I believe the FO will wait until TC starts and sees if there are any positions the team is struggling at. If so, I expect them to make some calls to move Lewis as long as B. Jones looks near 100% and Michael Jackson doesn't look like Dwayne Goodrich

Nope. We good!

The article talks about the CB position and I think many ppl give Richard credit for the defense as a whole. Matt Eberflus did a great job with the Colts defense, and can't help but to wonder if he had the talent DAL strolled out on the field last season would he had yielded better results.

Opp. Passing Stats 2017:
Comp. 371
Att. 559
Yards 3,425
TDs 28
Int. 10
NY/A 5.7

Opp. Passing Stats 2018:
Comp. 367
Att. 542
Yards 3,755
TDs 22
Int. 9
NY/A 6.5

Back to the CBs, 80-90% of the All Pro CBs match the template Richard is using, but so is most of the league. Richard is a fiery guy and brings a certain attitude, but I'm not crowing this guy for last season.

Idk it works both ways. Secondary has to make the QB hold on to the ball for that extra split second to let the rush get there as well.

More doesn't always mean better stats.

You would assume if jourdan Lewis had 700 more snaps he would have better stats lol. 2+2=4 I know Texas is a little slow

That is not always the case. This isn't 2+2. Heath looked good in small samples too but more snaps didn't mean that same high production. Happens all the time, but you'd have to watch football to know that.

I've seen enough snaps to know he is good. Who was our best corner at the end of 2017? It was jourdan Lewis who started every game. Go back and watch the last 4-5 games of 2017

Was also Lewis that got beat to end the season. Go watch him be in position but too short to make a play on the ball. go watch. I never said he sucked but he hasn't beat anyone on the team. Played better in 2017, but not last year in pre season. Brown beat him out according to reports.
