Twitter: Dak Says It Started Clicking Last Season

You could actually see it too.... the first game in Washington you could see Dak becoming a better Qb with his reads (and by better I don’t mean better overall in that game.... yes he messed up and took an ill advised fumble) but from that game forth you just saw him make steady improvements I think this year we see him become what we know he can be

It was only his third season.

For some reason, people expect a 3rd year QB to be a finished product. I have no idea why. Historically, there are a lot of QB’s that continue to develop and play better beyond 3 years.

Our last QB was one of them. So idk why people can’t remember it.

Regardless of my opinion on Dak I expect him to improve this season. My ceiling on him might not be as high as some but I do not believe he's reached it yet, and when you factor in what should be an improved offensive line, a second-year Michael Gallup, wile veterans in Witten and Cobb, a multi-faceted rookie in Tony Pollard, the added creativity of Kellen Moore and the game-changing ability of Cooper and Elliott, the odds are the best is yet to come for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys.

Last season his coach was Kellen Moore. He says he started seeing things and KNOWING instead of thinking. Hopefully this is a good sign for things to come with Moore as OC.

I hope that what he's saying is actually what comes to pass. Because that was my biggest complaint of Prescott, he had to see it to believe it, and that resulted in late throws and giving defenders time to recover or make a play.

If what he's saying is true, his game will be taking a huge leap forward.

He had Zeke and his entire OL out for the last game against the Giants and put up 387 yards passing, he looked locked in for that game.

It seemed to me like that was a game where they simply put it all on Dak, and he came through with flying colors. And somebody actually realized we had a TE on the field!

They have said Kellen Moore was calling the plays in that game. Years from now we will read that Will McClay locked Linehan's hotel room from the outside and wrapped chains around the door knobs.

And the McClay legend will grow even larger...

McClay let Linehan go after the game, his assistant Kathy Bates took care of everything.

Good to see. Dak's progression as a quarterback is on schedule; especially when one considers the original plan was for him to sit and learn behind Romo for a year or two.

Personally I thought Prescott turned it around the moment Amari Cooper arrived. All NFL quarterbacks not named Tom Brady need a true, go-to receiver they can rely on.

This is where I expect Kitna to help Dak even more. With some fine tuning on some mechanics.
Just hope Dak also gets some better pocket awareness. Which can come in time for a young QB. Some have it natural and some it takes a few years or so. But if other things are corrected. With some footwork, that awareness will happen also.

I agree. I think Dak got a little too used to clean pockets the first 24 games of his career. Then came the "Chaz Green Game" in Atlanta in November 2017 and it kind of messed up his internal clock.

The Prescott we saw over the last half of 2018 tells me he's finally over that. The numbers also bear it out.

I'm half joking, but I'd have Kitna stand next to him with a stopwatch and a stick. If that ball isn't out of his hand by the time the stopwatch hits a certain number? He gets the stick!

A little operant conditioning.

That might condition him to be less affected when he does get harassed or sacked, too. That would be a good thing.

Moore's offense is about timing and the WR/TE/RB being at a spot on cue.

Or, Kitna could just blow a whistle instead of striking the starting quarterback with a blunt object!
