Cowboys are about to make a big mistake with LB deployment

only issue with Lee is his perpetual hammy issues. WHEN HEALTHY, he can cover well.Does little good if he's on the training table.

Actually he pretty much sucked at everything last year most of the year.

There are people on this site that would agree with you. Jaylon at strong, Lee at weak, and LVE in the middle.

I'm one of those people. That's perfect for the base.

Even before we drafted LVE, there was noise about moving Jaylon to SLB. Great out of the box personnel decision. Out of their rut of treating SLB like a bus stop for JAGs. Jaylon makes much more sense on the edge where his speed will be used, and at SLB where you get more blitzing. MLB is not for him.

It will be a sin not to put LVE at MLB. He should be our monster in the middle. Should be in his 260s this year.

Even if Lee has lost a step, he'll still be great run support in the base from WLB. For him it was always about his ability to diagnose the wash, not being a superfreak.

We seem to be reworking the linebacker lineup to force fit Lee on the field.

I don't see how. SLB is the worst fit for Lee, and Jaylon and LVE were taking MLB and WLB without Lee on the field.

Whatever happens they need to keep LVE and Jaylon in their same roles as last year. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

Titans smoked him up the seam for a TD. Last regular season game NYG TE Ingram got him on goaline.

Lee looked noticably slower, agreed upon by most and unless Lee got some Jason Witten miracle water to run faster as you get older, where is this guy gonna be?

Then in the nickle package....they are gonna take out LVE..and deploy Lee and Smith.

Floaty, I don't know how you can be this uninformed.

The SLB (Wilson the past couple of years) is the player that plays the least snaps against the pass.

The scheme is designed to keep the WLB away from blocks and let him flow sideline to sideline.

Lee has been the top coverage LB on the team (prior to 2018) and was the LB that played the Nickel and Dime packages which are pass defense packages.

Jaylon is one of the bigger, stronger 4-3 LBs in the league.

you gotta believe that the coaches (who make a lot of money and know football much better than me) should already know all this. LVE will be playing in the middle where he belongs.
