We need to pay Dak sooner than later. Listen to Michael Irvin on this point. The longer we wait, the more it will cost us. If Dak never improves over his late 2018 level, that's still a borderline top 10 guy. But he will improve because he has the talent and the work ethic to do so. Franchise QBs don't grow on trees. Yes, you can nitpick aspects of his game, but you could have done the same for Brady, Brees, Rodgers, et al after three seasons in the league. You could nitpick Brees and Rodgers now.
By year three of a new deal he won't be in the top 5 in QB salaries by the end of an extension he may not be in the top 10. He would get paid if he hit the open market - more than it would take now. We've been in the QB abyss, we don't need another Quincy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, Drew Henson fiasco.
