If Garrett is getting 6M, Belichick should get double or more if we're going to compare coaches like players.
I would stand there and clap and call time outs, go for it on every 4th and short and throw a challenge flag when they tell me to for half that.

No it’s not the same because you are looking at it as if QBs should be paid accordingly to how they are ranked, and that’s not how it works because they don’t all sign contracts in the same year under the same market conditions.

Would you sell your house for less than the real estate market says you can get for it because a better house than yours sold for less a few years earlier when market conditions were different? Of course not, you would sell your house for what you can get under current market conditions. That doesn’t mean you have a better house than the guy who sold a few years ago, or that you are being greedy, it just means you are taking advantage of the market as it exists today.
I definitely disagree.

If I'm an owner, I'm not paying Dak Prescott 'Caron Wentz money'....don't care what stupid *** contract Philly decided to give him.

Wentz doesn't play for my team.
My team has different needs than his team.
I want to win titles, not just to boast about having one of the highest paid QBs.

Dak needs to perform first...then he can get paid accordingly.

Market "value" be damned. In the NFL I have the franchise tag option...thank God.

Shouldn't a QB...(aka team leader)...be a bit different from other players.

Example, an OL or LB. Those guys who typically are paid less, and who's careers get cut short at a higher rate.

Let's face it, the league is already on a slow death march due to the CTE ...it's popularity among youth is decreasing.

The "me first" attitude may be justified, but it isn't doing them any favors with fans.

Once fans realize that players don't actually care about winning, the death march will increase to a sprint.

bahahahhhahahahhaha..... football is so far ahead of every other sport, TV show, movies.. you name it that a slow death march for them may be 50 or more years. The CTE stuff will take care of itself. These players are going ot be signing off accepting any and all risks from playing pro football soon. The risks are now well known and players wont be able to come back in 20 years and sue the league for future health issues. If I start smoking tomorrow and get cancer, no way in hell am I winning a law suit against tobacco companies.

The thing is it isn’t just Wentz setting the market. It’s Garappollo and Cousins and Wentz and Wilson and every other QB signing in today’s market that defines the direction the market goes.

And it’s supply and demand. There aren’t even enough quality starting QBs to go around for the 32 teams, so if you want to pay $20 million a year you will get a bottom of the barrel NFL starter, and somebody else will pay Dak $30+ million/year.

I see where your at. But the FO is convinced he is the franchise QB already. That’s where we are. Next year the market value will be more that 30 or 32. JJ is wanting to sign him now and save money to sign the others. If he wasn’t sold on Dak then he would be doing what your talking about. Let him play out rookie deal and tag him for 34 or sign him for more than this year.

With the team he will have around him all he has to do is pick up where he left off last year and his stats and team are going to the playoffs.

And if we cut him or released him there would be teams going for him and probly willing to give him 30.

One, in NE but he only did that because he had to if he wanted to stay with that team.
It's not even that anymore. He has a legacy that will continue to have earning potential. If stopped playing today, he would still endorsements and other opportunities the rest of his life, ala Peyton Manning. If he wants a gig as a broadcaster, no problem, some kind of sports show, it'll happen. He'll still be a spokesman for Aston Martin, Tag Heuer, Under Armor etc. plus whatever else. He can pick and choose what and when he wants to endorse or market.

A player with only a handful of years doesn't have that security to fall back on, even if they are the QB for "America's Team"

Yay! Let's mortgage our future for the next 5 years.
Cause, clearly, we cant live without Dak, the GOAT.
Did you complain against Romo when he was getting his franchise record extension back in 2011? Somehow, I doubt it.

PS: I actually agree Dak should take less instead of more.

$34m a year is nuts, I would let him play out this season on his rookie deal before paying that.

Just ask him to take 30 per year but give him 112 or 115 guaranteed and 25-30 million signing bonus. That would make most of us happy...
