Yeah I know that. LOL it was still a lesson there that's the point you're not comprehending I think.

There's no lesson. Because the Cowboys won't need to apply what happened then to what's going to happen now.

There is a zero percent change Dak won't be the QB for Dallas whether we extend him or not in the next few months.

What lesson? It's very unlikely Dak would hold out. In fact, if he was going to hold out, you'd probably hear squawking from his camp. We've heard nothing and he's shown up for OTAs and expected to be at mandatory practices.
I've been on the Prescott bandwagon since his first game against Seattle and preseason. I suffered through 15 different starters after treatment. Including Randall Cunningham imagine him being a cowboy LMAO. I know what the Alternatives mean getting rid of Prescott. Trial and error all over again and for how long. Signed a kid get it done let's play football

The lesson. If you have a superstar you don't mess with him that's the lesson. And unreplaceable Superstar. Yes I think Prescott is that good. And we haven't seen the best of him yet

Mess with him? LOL.

The weird rationales you guys come up with are funny.

Again the "alternatives" don't matter. Because there is no chance Dak won't be QBing the Cowboys in 2019.

Stop with the alternatives as if there is a possibility Dak won't be our QB in three months.

No, the problem is you are making a nonsensical argument using something that happened nearly 30 years ago in a different time and different era to justify your stance they should pay him now.

There is no applicable "lesson" here.

So if you don't sign Prescott what are you telling him. We don't think you're worth it. We can find your replacement. Or we just don't have that much money to pay you what message are you trying to send him. Or do you simply just not like the kid and don't think he's worth it and then that's the end of the conversation that easy

You tell him what hundreds of players have been told before by NFL teams......... play out your contract and we'll try to work something out next offseason or we can just tag you.

Using your logic, are you suggesting just pay him whatever he wants? What if his demands are off the chart?

Will if we go with Rush or White as a starter instead of Dak. Good luck with that.

Honestly, I don't think that would happen. Dak is not sitting out a year. He can't, he's still under contract so if the Cowboys did nothing, he would be violating his existing Rookie Contract, which would only put him out another year and provide the team with another year to utilize the tag. That would put him a potential 4 seasons away from a contract and that probably hurts his numbers in the long run.

Cowboys would bring in a Vet and let them be the short term starter, until Dak came back. Now, it certainly wouldn't help the season, that's for sure.

He still can be without you having to drop your pants and pay him now.

Why is this concept difficult to grasp. Just because they can't reach an agreement before this season, doesn't mean Dak's career as a Cowboys is almost at an end.

My last response. What if his demands are off the chart. Are you going to let him sit. If that's what he's willing to do.? No I don't think Prescott has that type of character. I am curious to see what you think . I believe in paying now with next year's dollars. As the salary cap increases you have extra money that you didn't pay out later. Everybody has their own Financial plans mine have worked great for me

This veteran you want to bring in can we make a backup. Too many scenarios but it's fun

If his demands are off the chart, you don't pay him that and you let him play out his rookie deal and then try to get a deal worked out later or tag him for a few years. It's just that simple. Again, there is probably no chance he would sit out this year. As noted above by ABQ, it only hurts him long term to sit out.

Put it this way, if Dak and his agents came back and said they want to be paid the largest contract ever for a QB, the Cowboys would be wise to chuckle and say we'll talk after 2019.

Jerry Jones Lake dropping his pants. He did it with Dion. I remember Dion telling Emmitt Smith what is it the money is that what bothers you

I remember those days. I was watching him on the sideline warming up against the Cards, thinking to myself, never thought I would see the day when Cunningham was starting for the Cowboys.

Prescott is never going to sit out. And it doesn't hurt them to pay him now it doesn't hurt them to pay him later. So why do you want to put it off. You must not trust in him like I do and that's the bottom line that's the truth
