Key word here....former

Lets not be too hasty.
I bet Jerry would relish a chance to put JB into rehab, let him flourish and hire him back, because, well, Jerry's ego and heart are bigger than his brain.

DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - An arrest warrant for former Cowboy Josh Brent has been withdrawn.

There had been a warrant for Brent's arrest for a probation violation following an arrest in Coppell last week on charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest after an incident in a Wendy's parking lot.

Brent was convicted of intoxication manslaughter in teammate Jerry Brown's death and sentenced to 180 days in jail and 10 years probation back in 2013.

Brent appeared in court yesterday and the warrant for his probation violation was withdrawn.

So, the probation was just a tease?

Folks need to look in the mirror.

Brent is a classic case of "there but for the grace of god go I."

People drive drunk all the time without killing a friend. People smoke weed all the time without getting busted. People are drunk in public all the time without cops hassling them.

Brent has had awful luck. This could happen to anyone. He's not blameless but there are many of us who could easily be in the same boat.

Don't hurt y'all's selves getting on your high horses to tell me how you never drove drunk blah blah blah.

He has managed to stay out of trouble for awhile now. Everyone has demons, some more than others. As far as I’m concerned maybe he needs additional help. Yeah yeah I know, what he did was serious but what exact good comes from throwing the key away?
This particular demon caused him to kill his best friend. I was shocked that he drank AT ALL after that. It is obvious that he needs help. The real question, in my experience, is does he WANT help?

HEY...lets take our foot off the guys neck for a while. Lets see what plays out. Give the system a chance to work. NEXT

Yeah -- I can't help but think there's a valid explanation for the warrant being withdrawn.

Maybe there's more to this thing than meets the eye. Let's see what's up.

I'm sure we're about to learn more in the days to come.

If you are in the camp of "there but for the grace of God go I" because you routinely show a complete disdain for the law, then I suggest you need to spend a great deal of time talking with someone about how to change your life.

There is only one person to blame for all the trouble Brent has found himself in over the course of his life...and that is Brent. Life is about the choices we make and the consequences of those choices. I'll admit life can be hard...it's even harder when you constantly make stupid decisions.

I also could not possibly care less that you think it's sitting on a high horse...but most people don't drive drunk.

I sincerely hope people treat this like it should be treated. Brent is having mental health

Most people do not drive drunk?

Do you have evidence for that? You likely don't.

According to a CBS report on an analysis of data performed by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, only 2% of Americans adults admit to driving drunk. Since it would take 50% plus one person to be most, I guess the CDC evidence works. Unless you think 2% is more than 50%.

Brent needs help...apparently he doesn't really want it because he resisted arrest when officers had probable cause to arrest him. Just an FYI...resisting arrest is a crime and evidence of Brent making yet another stupid decision. I hope he gets help and commits to doing what is necessary for him to get his life in order. History tells us that is not likely. I would not let him work for my company.

A lot more people drive drunk than most of us believe. Now highly intoxicated, maybe not. But you can look at restaurant patrons at any time, drink a couple of beers or glasses of wine and get into a vehicle. And sometimes it is more than just a couple.

Gee, self report data on a topic that is socially sensitive. Yeah, that's the sort of thing that's accurate.

Unless these people are blowing into a breathalyzer, it ain't data

For him to be drinking like that AFTER he caused a death due to his drinking shows depression and the inability to cope with depression or addiction
But, doctor, could it also be a manifestation of solar flares?
