If it's true that the new CBA will probably pay Pat Mahomes between $50-60 million, then paying Dak $35 now might be smart.

The problem is, if you only give him a 3-year deal, you might have to pay $50 million for him later anyway just to keep the status quo if he doesn't mature into an elite player.

It's a tricky situation.

I am sure he will get his. Eventually the cap money dries up. They have professionals that move things around and do the bonuses and things. I do think if we pay our triplets we could end up in a situation unless the cap makes big jumps.

Go 5-7 years. JJ and SJ want him to be the franchise.

Other words, owners/teams/league are making more money. It simply translates to players getting paid more......

clearly he wants his and is justifying his stance. with some help from his agents.

That's certainly what it sounded like to me. And I'm especially curious regarding his talk of that 'gambling money'? How exactly does that portion factor into player salaries?

I guess it just means the NFL will be making more money. And could be something being discussed in the new CBA..

Very likely, but how exactly do you negotiate a contract today based on money in a new CBA that hasn't been agreed to as of yet? Quite the sticky wicket!
Likely means the cap will grow bigger soon so go ahead and pay me now. Lol

BTW..... don't think Dak has suddenly become a cap expert, LOL. We're likely hearing what agent community already know from intense research/study.

Just Daks turn. Next will be Cooper and Elliot.

If, in fact, that gambling money is going to factor in, the salary cap is going to experience a huge jump. And if that's the case, I'd be working hard to get contracts done well ahead of it, having more money down the road when the contracts are really exploding. They might look like overpaying with regard to the current cap, but they will be bargains when that influx of money comes rolling in. If you are sure that will be the case, do your deals now.

Maybe the reason SJ was saying they would be paying Elliot a big contract. Trying to get this done ASAP. Sign the 3 now and have money for Jaylon and LVE later. Not sure if we sign Byron or not.

If Dak is right about that gambling money being factored into player salaries, I'm fine with paying everybody now.

bahahahahahhahhahhahahha.... Dak Saved Jerry? bahahaahahahhah
so you think the Cowboys wont be on tv if they are winning? in 2015 we stunk, go look at the top 10 highest rated games in the NFL that season and see how many were the pathetic Cowboys with HS QBs throwing passes. You think if the Cowboys had a bad qb they would all of the sudden go bankrupt?
Cmon... be real. Jerry and the Cowboys are gonna make money till the end of time..... no matter who is playing QB.
