Of course, bloke, some police have ill intentions.
Yet, at 3 a.m., when a criminal is breaking down the door, I will take my chances with the constabulary ALL the time and not the Josh Brents of the world.
I’m curious. How often do read about police breaking down the door at 3am to save the helpless home owner? I’ll take my chances with my own 9mm before I wait for police to save my arise. In addition, I break the police down into two groups, those called for help, which are all good, and those that happen upon regular joes, which are 50% ****.

He resisted and ‘tussled’ as the story said. How do we know that actually happened? How do we know anything happened or it was even Josh Brent.

So let me ask you this. If the police said they smelled a heavy dose of alcohol on his breath, how is it that he tested and no alcohol in his system? So were the cops just wrong, or lying? It’s one or the other. I chose they are lying, because. You smell booze or not, and it isn’t that complicated.

Not for anything but what the hell exactly is a hate crime? Crime is crime, Hate crime is just some bs that was thrown together to make someone happy. Are there not plenty of laws on the books to handle all types of crime? Do hate crimes have more severe penalty’s?

Is this a serious post? I mean like did you forget the sarcasm emoji?

Hate crimes are a violation of your civil rights for what it’s worth

Can a 19 year old kid w/ a dip of Copenhagen in his mouth who had 2 beers 1 1/2 hrs ago actually smell like alcohol? I have serious doubts.

Right you are, govnor. HATE CRIME is redundant. Like a "terrible attack" or "forced rape."
Its a crime, that's it!
But if you add god and race, you lose me on it, louts!

The arresting officers had breakfast that morning and decided that the first celebrity arrest of the day would be falsely accused of having alcohol on his breath.

Well folks it turns out Josh Brent wasnt drinking or using any drugs when he was arrested. Its interesting how many of you internet tough guys with stone hearts jumped all over this guy calling for him to be imprisoned, fired ect.......

Now that the true story comes out it seems quiet in here.

You all know who you are. You lashed out publicly towards a man who was suffering from a mental breakdown. How do you feel now that the big shirtless man at Wendy's was suffering form a mental illness?
I'd like to thing that this type of thing will cause some to give a fellow man the benefit of the doubt next time but unfortunately I doubt it. We have become a cold judgmental bunch who prefers to tear each other apart more than empathize with others struggles.

Arrest warrant withdrawn for ex-Dallas Cowboy Josh Brent
By JORDAN DAJANIThu Jul 11 2019

Current Dallas Cowboys scout and former defensive lineman Josh Brent is no longer facing arrest for his June 30 arrest.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, an arrest warrant for probation violation has been withdrawn. The reason why the warrant was withdrawn wasn't immediately made available, but Calvin Watkins of The Athletic reports that Brent tested clean for drugs and alcohol despite the initial report claiming he was intoxicated.

On the date in question, officers were called to the 800 block of MacArthur Boulevard, where a man was reportedly sitting in the grass and talking to himself. The officers determined the man, Brent, was drunk, and told him that he was going to be arrested on suspicion of public intoxication. He failed to cooperate, a tussle then ensued and Brent had to be tased in order to be subdued.

Brent reportedly admitted to police that he was drunk, when it appeared that he was actually suffering a mental breakdown. He is now undergoing treatment, and Watkins reports that the support from the Cowboys remains strong.
Brent told the police he was drunk, and you are upset at fans for thinking he was drunk?

Imagine if cops were actually trained to deal with people having mental issues instead of just assuming that they are are on drugs or alcohol. This happens more frequently than you know.

That's a lot to ask of some people. Seriously. Especially in some areas where the cops/sheriffs aren't paid that much.
You got men and women who don't know how their day at work will go. Might be smooth, might be boring, could deal with some crazy person that they pull over or they could be dealing with somebody that is a felon who is carrying. I'm not saying it's right or acceptable for how they initially react to some of these altercations either.

This country is lacking in a lot of areas. Mental health is always something that is talked about to be improved here, but no action is ever done to combat it. Only when does some person shoot up a place do people care about mental health and then the following week they forget about it all.

Asking police officers to also be psychiatrists as well is not something everyone with a badge can do. Not saying they need to go in guns blazing or not have compassion, but there are quite a few people out there that need help, can't get it and by the time the cops are called they don't have the entire life story of said person and know fully why they are acting that way. And unfortunately the cops do not know if said person may be carrying a weapon like a knife or a gun.
