And yet, Tomlin has a ring. I think Tomlin is a good coach and he's proven it. The locker room has been an issue for a few years. You get too many selfish diva's and it hurts team morale. Losing shazier was also a huge blow.

Looks like they finally got rid of the problem players and have taken the lock room back. I wouldn't bet against them. Bell is about to find out what how much he benefitted from a great OL.
The biggest diva of them all is still in the locker room in Big Ben. I know Tomlin has a ring but I have felt for a long time it's time to stop blindly giving him the benefit of the doubt because he won with many of Cowhers players in '08. We're talking about an organization that talks about holding men accountable in Pittsburgh. Yet it's soundbite Mike who allowed the divas including Ben to overrun the locker room leaving him as the last jerk standing. As the captain of the whip it's his job to right the ship. Tomlin and Ben are the last men left standing.

What will be interesting is that if he's a no show for TC, no big deal unless the other backs start showing something. It's not the norm that a team with one of the three best backs picks two more in the draft. That would be the first thing to get my attention if I were Elliott, right after hearing my Dad tell me to keep my *** in the house and do my drinking indoors.

Bell was a top back but Conner showed he could play at a high level, RB isn't the reason they didn't go anywhere.

If I am the GM, I don't even respond to this threats, if it really is one as Elliott hasn't even confirmed it but he is letting it stay out there to see if it has legs. I'd want to see my young backs, don't need to see Elliott except to make sure he's in shape. Camp is a long way from the kickoff to real football.
And Elliot don’t play preseason.

We finally have an elite RB, who could be great like Emmitt, and some of you are so cheap you wont pay him.

I like Zeke but with all the issues he’s had so far, JJ and Co. have been way more than accommodating. He should at least consider that before doing something like this.

Edit: not say saying he should or shouldn’t.

Really?

We will lose without him.

Lets see what 32 million dollar a year Dak can do without him. I think we should be Zeke while he is still worth paying. I would not want to sign him two three years from now.

Then cut Zeke today.

Since he can be easily replaced.

Cheaper.

That what I thought. Bad idea.

I don't necessarily want him gone. I think he's a superb back, and he's one of my favourite players on this team actually. But, if push comes to shove, then I'd be at least keen to see what Pollard can do. I don't think anyone is saying, for example, that Connor is better than Bell. Connor just happened to be sufficiently serviceable to where the Steelers ended up not requiring Bell's services any longer.

Likewise, I know full well that Pollard is no where near Zeke's level of talent. I'd really not like to Zeke be sent away. But, if it comes down to it, I'd like to know how serviceable Pollard is. Additionally, I stated that I don't believe this rumour, and I still don't. I'm just playing along with it to see how it'd play out. If this were the case and Zeke were to consider holding out, then I'd caution him that what happened to Bell can happen to him.

This is all speculation yet many posters are all worked up on their post as if Zeke has already publicly announced his hold out. Folks, we don't yet know what Zeke is going to do, so I encourage you to keep that in mind rather than prematurely judging him as a problem maker or self-serving. Zeke will make his intentions know shortly so why not wait till that time to make your comments?

First that's an rumor piece. The link I gave you is from the NFL's own site. Now which would a sensible person believe more, a rumor article that actually is called rumors or one that comes straight from the horses mouth?
.

Look at the entry for Aug 6, 2019. This is the official NFL Operations page. It appears if they don't show up for fall camp at that date, it doesn't matter if they are on the active/inactive/PUP list for a minimum of 6 games. The 6 games only seems to apply to those players, under contract, who show up at the designated camp date each league year (this being Aug 6th this year).

I haven’t read all 22 pages of this thread, so I don’t know if I’m in the minority or not. But I can’t fault Zeke for this. Given the injury probability of the RB position and lifespan, RBs only get one big contract.

Given the injury probability and lifespan of TBs, maybe the Cowboys would be smarter to not pay a TB a crap ton of money?

You are mistaken because according to the CBA no team can extend or "upgrade" a rookie contract until AFTER the end of the 3rd season. As for Elliott, Bosa drafted 3rd got 17 mil signing bonus, Elliott drafted 4th got 16 mil signing bonus. So you're wrong on both accounts.
.

The Cowboys gave Dak a proven performance bonus in his contract, which they did not have to do. He will earn an additional 2 mil this upcoming season, because of that kicker.

In terms of Zeke, look at what Fournette got paid, who is also a RB. Look at the difference in average salary from Cooper (5.665 Mil), Zeke (6.24 Mil) and Fournette (6.79 Mil). The bump in salary between Cooper and Zeke and Zeke and Fournette is greater for Zeke then for Fournette. I'm not wrong in that Zeke received more in compensation, from a percentage bases.

First, it PISSES me off that some athletes do not HONOR their contracts. They signed their deal. No one forced them to do it. They were pleased as punch when they did it too. Now, a couple years later they are disgruntled. GET OVER IT ZEKE AND HONOR YOUR CONTRACT. Stop being a bozo. I am sick of people not honoring their word or their commitments.

THEY CARE AND THE PLAYERS DRIVE IT. Good lord.

Yes it is. You don't like my solution, so you say it's not real lol.

It means he doesn't get more than his contract until he holds out. Which is my point.

Wow. You feel like you gotta yell because why? You think it's going to make any more sense then it did before if you put it all in caps?

I noticed you didn't answer the question though. Do you ever see your solution getting voted in? It's a "Yes" or "No" question. If the answer is no, and you and I both know that it is, then how can you really call that a solution? I ask you what your answer to the problem is and you provide an answer that is impossible? Might as well have just said get rid of the cap all together. That actually has a better chance of getting voted in then what you originally suggested by a really wide margin.

Good Lord doesn't quite cover it. Try to have a good day.

Go get Duke Johnson..And I’ll bet Zeke will be at training camp.

We may not have to if Pollard is as good as he looks on YouTube. Though, I'm not against adding competition for everyone. Even my favourite players as it makes them better.

you do realize weve been in the hunt for 2 of the last 3 years, and zeke is a huge reason why.... you know this, yes? and youd just let him walk? if they were gonna do that, then they should NEVER spend another 1st rd. pick on a RB again.

Zeke must go !!!

No...... some are just aware of the fact that few teams get a return on their investment when paying elite money to a TB.

Then cut Zeke.

If an elite RB isn't worth it, trade him for a punter.

Who needs an elite RB who averages 100 yards a game rushing, leads the team in receptions, wins 2 rushing titles, and is on pace to break Emmitt's records?

BTW, we are getting all that for the tune of 3.8 mil this season.

I expect Zeke to hold out.

Pay Zeke.

SHOW ME THE MONEY JERRY
