I'm sure Jerry said the same about Emmitt in 1993.
We can blame the Rams for this mess.
Its the signing Bonus. They all want that $$$.
Zeke will want around 25 million.

Zeke is ranked 10th in NFL salaries for a RB. 2016 was yesterday.

Pay Zeke!
Because you weren't listening.Wow. You feel like you gotta yell because why? You think it's going to make any more sense then it did before if you put it all in caps?
I noticed you didn't answer the question though. Do you ever see your solution getting voted in? It's a "Yes" or "No" question. If the answer is no, and you and I both know that it is, then how can you really call that a solution? I ask you what your answer to the problem is and you provide an answer that is impossible? Might as well have just said get rid of the cap all together. That actually has a better chance of getting voted in then what you originally suggested by a really wide margin.
Good Lord doesn't quite cover it. Try to have a good day.
None of your points do matter. The only one that does is that Zeke feels he's underpaid, and his only recourse is the threat of a holdout. Anything outside of that is irrelevant.Well, Zeke to me is not the best back right now.
He is important to the team, maybe like emitt was. But that wasnt my point.
Maybe you should read my post again and try to understand what i said. But you can also just go over it and just say that none of my points matter. You can always make the world as you wish it should be.
Literally none of what you said matters.
Zeke is the best RB in the game and not being paid like it. The other factors really don't have any influence. He holds all the cards and, whether we like it or not, is every bit as important to this team as Emmitt was.
It's not a matter of should or shouldn't. If they want to get paid more, then it's their only course of action.Patrick Mahomes played like the best QB in the game and he's not paid like it. Maybe he should hold out too?
Jaylon Smith played like one of the best ILBs in the NFL last year. And he's not paid like it. He should probably hold out too.
Byron Jones was one of the best CBs in football and right now, he ranks 73rd in AAV amongst CBs. Definitely should hold out.
TWO YEARS left on his contract.
Unless he gives a sweet home town discount....at least 15% off the current top RB contract...then let him hold out. (Some may laugh, but that’s still damn good $$ with long term security.)
He should not even be thinking hold out at this point. Maybe 9 months from now.

For some, like Mahomes, holding out would mean being the highest paid player at his position almost immediately.
No, I'm not saying should. Please, stop putting words in my mouth, for the 500th time lol.Just applying your logic here.
Your stance should be that if you are being paid in a current year less than your value, you should hold out and get paid. Elliott signed a deal. You don't think he should have to live by that deal, and instead, demand he get paid more and sit out to make that happen.

I'm saying that, if a player is underpaid on their rookie deal, their only recourse is to hold out. The whole morality of living by the deal is irrelevant to everyone - players and owners alike - except for butthurt fans.

A lot of stuff he can train on his own at several gyms. Biggest thing is new OC and knowing the offense.
Because you weren't listening.
Yes, it is possible. No, not right now.
I would get rid of the cap altogether.
I never understood why people try to apply this morality thing for athletes & contracts. The owners make billions on the backs of players (and tes I know the players don’t have to play), for leagues like the NFL where the average career is less than 3yrs (gotta play to 5 to earn retirement, wonder why that is huh?) the only action an athlete has is to hold out. Zeke’s earning potential at his position is all in the first 5 years of his career. No telling where he’ll be in 3 years, physically. I certainly don’t blame him for doing it.
Now, the question on should Dallas pay him is a whole different debate. Me personally, with his off the field antics and the change in the RB position in today’s NFL, I probably wouldn’t do it. Either way it’s a very difficult decision for Dallas and Zeke.
eyeroll....Because none of that is what I'm saying.Ok.
But what i dont understand is: if nothings matters to you besides your own view then why did you join a discussion forum ?
Why not open up your own blog and just spam the world with your opinion ?
Who cares about base salary alone when discussing an NFL player's compensation? But he is NOT among the highest paid RBs in 2019.
His base is 3.8 million this season.
I'm sure Jerry said the same about Emmitt in 1993.
