Dez got fired over his poor influence in the locker room more than anything else. He single-handedly prevented us from going to the playoffs in 2017 and tried to blame it on others in the locker room rather than taking responsibility for his own miscues. The little factions he created with his locker room hype was extremely divisive.

that may be, but he still had a contract and we cut him, just like we did with Dan Bailey.

You could go 10-6 with Zeke and trading a 5th for Fitzpatrick. There’s no way you have a winning record giving the ball to Pollard 350 times.

Fitzpatrick the int machine? No way I waste a 5th on him. Not worth it.
Pollards 4.34 speed & Weber who runs around a 4.4, together can get 4.5 yds behind this OL.

PJ, I do not think I can change your mind about Zeke. But allow me to suggest this.

You say Dak is a player the team cannot win without. That may be so. I suggest Zeke holds that distinction, as well.

You could be right. I could be right. We both could be right.

But what in the history of this franchise since 2016 suggests that playing without Zeke will produce a bold and effective enough running game to supplant his being on the field.

In other words, like Deion said, Both! That has to be the absolute best option.

To publically express a position that Zeke is expendable, as some do, ignores that the team is so very much better with Zeke. Very much better. And hiring a guy who can get you 1200 yards is not the same as Zeke who can get you close to 1500 or more. The defenses will play your team a great deal different with a lesser running back.

So what is the purpose of the angst against Zeke? Not you, per say, but the populace here that seems filled with a dismissive rancor toward a guy that plays full out every play he is on the field.

I would rather have both of them than just one of them and be forced into a decision whioch one I have to give up.

In pro football you win with play makers.

I like Zeke, but he went awol vs the Rams, when we needed him most. The defense had some injury problems in that game, but Zeke was healthy and refused to use his speed on the edges of that defense. My biggest gripe on him. Also, I've heard only good things about Pollards versatillity. Zeke can hold out next year, not 2 years left on his contract.

I find it difficult to look into the mind of the player and determine what he was advised by the coaches and what he refused to do.

I just posted that. I think Martin is the best player on the team. If Smith is right, he IMO, is also better.
So you would take a Stud G over a Stud HB(playmaker) wow no comment on that one none at all.....!!!!!

I don’t know how to tell you this, but every one of your draft picks isn’t going all-Pro. Zeke is a once-in-a-generation. Fast, shifty RBs especially take a few years to really get their bearings in the nfl. Sproles, Shady, Willie Parker, Warrick Dunn. It’s the all-around bruiser types that hit the ground running, like Dickerson, like Elliot, like AP. Is it possible Pollard breaks out as a rookie? Sure. Is it worth throwing away an entire year of championship window to find out just so you can save a couple bucks on the salary cap?

It’s a tricky one, because the team has absolutely no incentive to honor their side of the contract, and never take the same heat players do when they cut them.

Are you really this dumb?

You’re a Eagles fan so I guess the answer is YES

Dak is. We've won without Zeke. Dak runs the offense, plays his best when pressure is highest in the 4th quarter. We can win with Pollard/Weber getting 4.5 yds behind our great run blocking OL.

Dak was dreadful without Zeke.
The comparison is ridiculous. There is no definitive proof of how many games we would have lost or won with Zeke. We also had trash for receivers which obviously made a big difference as well.

But what in the history of this franchise since 2016 suggests that playing without Zeke will produce a bold and effective enough running game to supplant his being on the field.

In 2017 with Zeke the TEAM rushed for 144 ypg for 4.5 y/a with 30 rushes a game. Without Zeke they rushed for 121 ypg for 4.2 y/a and 28 rushes a game. 2 more carries don't sound like much but 2 more would've accounted fur 50 more yds and put them at 171.

They avg 24ppg with Zeke and 23ppg without Zeke when the OL was healthy with Smith in. In the 2 games both Smith and Zeke was out they avg 9ppg. Once Smith came back they avg 23ppg without Zeke.

I'm not paying a RB top $ for .3 more yards a carry and 1 more point. Especially since they did that with at best an above avg back up in R. Smith, a worst wr group than they have now, probably a worst ol than they have now but I'll call it a push, a better version of the QB, and a worst defense than they have now. If the back ups can just be above avg this team can handle the Zeke loss better than the 2017 team and they handled a lot better than people think.

Frankly, you're not paying a running back at all. The owner is. R Smith is not in the same county as Zeke. Strawman argumentsd don't persuade.

I remember people hyping Emmitt's backup Hambrick.
You remember... What do voluntary mean? Hambrick.

That was awesome.

I remember people hyping Joe Randle.
You remember... panty stealing Randle?

That was awesome too.

I as well don’t like the idea of Zeke holding out but you can’t make a blanket statement like that regarding the Rams game. If Linehan keeps calling runs up the middle - what is Zeke supposed to do? Run the edge when the line is blocking for the middle?

This coaching staff is well known for game planning for what they want to do and not what the opposing team gives them.

"Enough" doesn't matter.

He is wildly underpaid. He could make both of those salaries, per year, and still be underpaid.
He will get paid but Dak is way more underpaid than Zeke. Not only that you have to wait your turn. Dak and Cooper have 1 year left, Zeke has 2 years left. You don't get to jump in front of the line especially when you have had issues off the field.
