G Bag and Fish both reported that Jarwin has looked superior to Witten. They said it's no contest. Does JG pull the old war horse for the young superior talent?

He had better!

That's the best news I've heard in a long time. Hopefully he's our next great TE.

Not surprising. Jarwin is the receiving threat. Witten is the balanced receiving/blocking threat. Schultz is the receiving/blocking threat in training.

Jarwin needs to up his blocking. I am encouraged to see his weight up to 260, though I team's player weight information is notoriously unreliable.

I made prediction a few months ago and am sticking to it. Witten retires in training camp.

That would be a nice outcome. Maybe Jerry could announce his immediate induction into the RoH at the retirement press conference.

Time to put this relic back on the shelf. Doesn't mean we can't admire it from time to time. Just don't need to be dusting it off and putting it back into action when it's as likely as not to get tarnished as a result.

That's why I was one of the few not panicking over the TE position. I loved the way Jarwin came on last season.

I'm a fan of Witten being the early down TE, in 3rd and short situations, and inside the 10 yard line. I believe his skill set will help the Cowboys, but they need to use the other TEs more than they have with Witten in the past. Maybe Witten catches 35 balls playing 40 to 50% of snaps.

The HC will make the sentimental decision. If Witten gets more snaps, it won't be surprising.

Doubt it. Jason Witten would have to get hurt for us to see what the other have to offer probably.

I'll add, he will stay on as an assistant coach.

Why? Witten retired after the Draft which surprised everybody. Sorry but he should have to earn his spot back. It's not personal. It's just business.
