You should also have seen the context of the rest of the NFL over that time. Instead you act like what the Cowboys accomplished during the Landry and Johnson eras was some sort of NFL norm, that the Cowboys are somehow "special" over and above other teams.

Fact is that we performed better than most teams in the NFL last season. Won our division, won a playoff game, and were in it through most of the game against the eventual NFC champs. Since then, we kept our starters and shored up needs such as DT in the offseason.

My type is saying appreciate doing better than most and the team improving. Your type whines unless we win it all. Perhaps a lobotomy would be more enjoyable than the unreasonable standard you espouse.

It's been 24 yrs and counting yet some still get shocked that the fanbase is on edge.
I think the fanbase would be better served to save the “on edge” stuff for the regular season. Or at least till after the Texans preseason game.

Oh well.

yup..its bizarre. Dunno if some realize that we are installing a new offense and THAT was a scrimmage. Its camp for Godsakes...its where you fix things and install plays. People overreact.
Defense is always way ahead of the offense just a week into camp. Not to mention that this defense should be really good.

I would have more concern if the offense would have been better than the defense.

It was a "norm" for excellence. The Steelers, 49ers and Raiders of that era all achieved the same goal.

They established a standard. To some degree, some of the organizations have allowed that standard to erode, but others have decided to set forth a benchmark.

We were in it against the Rams? News to me. I guess I need to watch that game again to just grasp the idea we were not outcoached and outclassed.

I already know know your type has low standards. It is like you have forgotten our tradition.

But that is okay. Most of the last several generations have forgotten about it.

4 out of 32 is not a norm. And then of course that was before FA and the cap. No team other than the Patriots meets your standards nowadays.

Of course it was news to you because you easily give up. Meanwhile it was an 8 point game going into the 4th quarter.

Being better than most and improving is a low standard? Are you daft?
