What is Dak’s excuse for yearly regressing QBR? Laziness? Lack of urgency? Good QBs don’t get worse as they approach their prime.

Where did you even get these stats? And it’s a skewed version of only half his stat line. Yes, take half his stats and then skew them and you may have an argument here.

In all seriousness though. Dak was way better than Smith was in his early years. Bad team or not, if you remember Smith playing as a young QB. He was horrible.

Come on man. The 2015 Cowboy's had SB aspirations before they lost their franchise QB. The 16 Cowboy's were much much better than the teams Smith played on at the start of his career.

Smith has a 168-96 record, Prescott is...51-33.

You do realize these are impossible stats for both.

Without checking:

Alex Smith has not had 264 career starts. That is the equivalent of an 16.5 year career without missing a start.

And Dak has 13+9+11 total wins (playoffs included)

He's 33-17.

And again, you’re glossing over the fact that Dak as an individual was just a much better player than Smith was, early in their careers. Regardless of teams. Which was the point of my post.

You’re the one bringing up the lame “better team” argument. When if you actually watched the players play, and evaluate their play, Dak was clearly better. Alex Smith was horrendous early in his career.

Also, you bring up that the 2015 cowboys had super bowl aspirations until their franchise QB got hurt.

Yet that franchise QB who missed 2015 due to injury, didn’t play in 2016 either, now did he? That’s right because Dak played in his place and the team went 13-3. Which makes the 2015 team argument even weaker.

Again, Alex Smith was HORRIBLE. Early in his career. His third season he started 7 games and had a QB rating in the 50’s. That is god awful terrible. Smith has 1 TD and 11 ints his rookie season. Which is god awful no matter who you’re throwing to.

Trying to blame a performance that bad on the supporting cast just doesn’t hold any water.
