Bart Scott: "Dak Prescott hasn't even reached Alex Smith's level"

If you don't even understand how a bad supporting cast can and does affect the performance of the individual in a team sport like football there is no point in discussing it.

(Chuckling as I recall all the "online has regressed, Zeke is out, WR's suck", comments to defend Dak's slump)

If you read my posts, and this is the conclusion you came to, it proves your reading comprehension is damn near elementary school level, which means any discussion is indeed fruitless. Nowherr in my posts did I say supporting cast doesn’t affect performance. I actually specifically said it does.

It’s just possible to assess a player’s ability and performance as an individual, while accounting for difference in supporting cast.

Apparently, you are incapable of that, or you know that Dak has been a better player than Smith was early in his career (because it’s obvious) and you are deliberately being obtuse.

I mean Alex Smith had Frank Gore, who is damn near a HoF level player as his running back those first 3 years and a young Vernon Davis at tight end. His receiving Corp did suck. But he damn sure had a good running game with a running back that could catch out of the backfield and an athletic tight end on the team helping him. But keep pretending an assessment of the quarterbacks play is impossible.

I suggest you reassess your own ability to read and comprehend.
I didn't say it was impossible. I said you are wrong. Confused by external factors. Not remembering clearly or were not aware enough to understand what you were seeing.

How old were you when Smith started? I'm guessing 12 or 13.

Your writing skills and reading comprehension skills are clearly just as bad as your ability to assess football players.

I also enjoy the fact that you skirt the facts and points brought up, and then have to come up with a lame attack about my age, when 1. You’re wrong about my age and 2. It just makes you look like a sour loser.

Knowing you were dumb enough to use Smiths supporting cast for him looking absolutely terrible, when he had one of the best running backs in the league behind him and an extremely talented Tight End to throw to, but still had absolutely horrifically bad performances.

But again, you skip over all those points, twist words and come up with lame attacks because the inaccuracy of your original claim was pointed out to you.

Lastly, even if I was 12 or 13. A 12 or 13 year old can easily watch a QB have games where he completes 50% of his passes, throws more interceptions than touchdowns, has less than 5 yards per attempt and posts QB ratings in the 50’s which is HORRIBLE. Even a 12 or 13 year old can watch that, and realize just how badly the QB is playing, regardless of supporting cast.

So even though a 12 or 13 year old can see that, apparently you couldn’t. Congratulations.

Oh btw, during Smith’s first 3 seasons in the league, he was outperformed by Ken Dorsey, Tim Rattay and Shaun Hill. Who obviously, were playing with the same supporting casts.

So tell me again about how the supporting cast explains the major difference between Smiths and Dak’s play in their first three seasons.

LOL
Calm down son. You're a very emotional young man. Try thinking instead of feeling.
