After Zeke's holdout i highly doubt 30 million is still on the table if it ever was a true blue offer.
This is great news as Dak's agents are working out perfectly for our team keeping Dak unsigned and saving us millions in Cap.

Here's a question does Dak have the guts to hold out at some point prior to kick-off if no deal is struck?
This should be a perfect scenario for you my cowboy brother. I believe Prescott is betting on himself. If he has a great season this franchise will pay him. If he doesn't he very well might he looking through the draft.

What's it going to be then, eh?

I'd say 32.5 should be our max.

It'd be better to let him walk than to pay him more than that...

He's not holding out this year, so whateves...

9 pages in @45 minutes definitely wins Click-Bait Thread-O-The-Month!

Wait till the Sports Illustrated Swim Suit thread gets posted. This record will last about as long as a piece of Chocolate Cake with Pecan Chocolate Frosting and a cold glass of milk would if it were sitting in front of me.

I am one of Dak's biggest fans.

And I think he's being flippin' ridiculous. As others have said, he deserves a little more than Carson Wentz money, but it should stop there.

Now, if the Cowboys win the Super Bowl this year and Dak puts up some otherworldly numbers, then maybe he'll have a case. But not now, Dak. I mean, seriously, bro.
Same

I’m a huge Dak fan have his jersey but 40 million a year is ridiculous he hasn’t been to a nfc title game

Dak was a helluva teammate for showing up while negotiations were going on and Zeke was public enemy number 1. Now on the basis of a rumor of normal negotiations, Dak is a bad guy. Anyone see a pattern here? The saying "money changes everything" is quite an accurate saying.
Nobody is saying Dak is a bad guy. He's just delusional to think any team would pay him that.

Or, he's trying to go the Kirk Cousins route and force Dallas to franchise tag him next season. That saves Dallas a ton of money this year and costs Dak a lot.

It's a dumb risk he's taking. He's just not that good.

This is WONDERFUL news for us as fans. He has to prove it, and if he doesn't, the team isn't screwed for the next five years with a Garropolo contract.

So why even bother. Coming up with a price someone might think he's worth or not. Let the Season play out

I agree. This pretty much means the Cowboys will wait until after 2019 to sign Dak (or not). We'll see if his stock goes up or down.

Now's the time to concentrate on getting Zeke and Amari done, because while Elliott may be in Cabo, Dak and his agent appear to have left for the moon.

Exactly, he's not in a hurry. I wouldn't take the money either. I'm not greedy LOL I'm getting a good salary. I'm betting on myself. Wow what a confident guy I love it

Yeah. The 25-28 mil AAV contracts for QBs will be peanuts in another year or so...

Patrick Mahomes is going to hit $60 million when his time comes. That's where we're headed.

In the meantime, backup linebackers will still be making $600K.

The disparity is going to be ugly.

For 40 million you better steal every base hit .450 with 80 home runs and win a gold glove and show up Sunday throwing no less than 3 tds a game

She's been right about everything so far this summer.

I don't have any way of knowing if that's true, but even so, rumors online, even by supposedly respectable media sources, have a pretty spotty track record. I'll believe it when there is evidence rather than unsubstantiated rumor.

And the reality is, even if Dak's agent has asked for $40MM, how do we know Dak really wants or expects that? It easily could be a negotiating ploy. And what about the guaranteed portion of the contract? I would be happy paying $40MM/year if only $60-80MM were guaranteed as opposed to Wentz's $107MM guaranteed.
