They will land on $35M/Yr and I pray to Jesus Dak can deliver that level of play.

If you're right, this team is *****. You can say good bye to much of this roster going forward, as well as future free agents.

I just don't think he'll ever be good enough to justify that percentage of the cap.

Other teams do it all the time. Dallas is better than most about it.

If Dak is making a crazy demand like this, the ENTIRE fan base will support the organization. Dak is making a huge miscalculation here. His agent is giving him horrible advice.

If he's the same guy as last year, his value could drop like a rock. He should sprint to Jerry and sign that $30 million offer right now.

This is GREAT news for us. A prove-it year benefits the team tremendously.
Prove it deal. Didn’t JJ say something along those lines when he said they offered QB, RB and WR top 5 money. But would be open to a prove it type of one year deal.

These agents for Cowboys players are nuts. First D-Laws agent had him holding the FO and team hostage with putting off his surgery till a contract is done. And he is saying now that he wishes he did the surgery sooner.

Elliot’s agent has him holding out 3 years into his 4 year rookie deal. No player has done that before. And for reason.

Now Daks agent asking for more money than the best QB in the NFL makes and by far.

Guess who is playing out his rookie deal. Lol. Even if he plays well 40 million is way out. They said when mahomes contract is ready that it may approach 40..

Dak would have to win the SB and be the MVP first.

You think Wentz' deal is reasonable? Dude gets hurt more than Romo at the end of his career, and still vastly unproven. That was stupid.

I think the Wentz deal was a great deal for philly. He was playing at an MVP level. Yes, injury prone. But the last one was a fluke ACL tear as he dove into the end zone. I love Dak, but no way he deserves $10 million/year more than Wentz.

My big problem is that Dak, and Zeke and Amari apparently, want to set the market at the position. Whereas other players on teams like Philly seem to know their true worth

This could be an all-timer.

Even YOU wouldn't pay that to Dak.

LOL

If the salary cap keeps increasing, deals like the one Dak is asking for are going to become more and more common.

I remember when everybody's jaws dropped in 1995 when Dallas signed Deion Sanders to a seven year, $35 million deal. Now our quarterback, who I have supported since he took over in 2016, wants more than the entire value of Prime's deal per season.

It has to stop. These guys are playing a game, not saving lives or achieving world peace.

The numbers back it up too. He was literally the worst quarterback in the league (and one of the worst in recent memory) the instant Zeke was taken off the field. He became the only QB in at least 10 years to turn the ball over 8+ times and throw 0 TDs over a 3 game span!

And he wants 40 million a year lol....is he planning on giving Zeke 15 million of that 40?
He should cause without Zeke he's the worst QB in the League!

The fact that he shot down 30 million speaks volumes. Get rid of him too. They weren't winning on rookie deals, but somehow overpaying them is the answer.

Pay me like the best in the NFL, and I'll help you win a wildcard playoff game.

Yes, $40 million is outrageous, but this is most certainly their bargaining chip. Cowboys offer $30 mil, they counter with $40 mil...meaning his contract will probably be around $34 or $35 mil...which is still outrageous.

Deion was already clearly the best CB in the history of the NFL.

Dak isn't even in the top half of this league right now.

If Dak was Mahomes, I'd give him $40 million, kiss his feet, and ask him if he needs anything else.

Patrick Mahomes is going to hit $60 million when his time comes. That's where we're headed.

In the meantime, backup linebackers will still be making $600K.

The disparity is going to be ugly.

Good point. It requires about 10 other players making the league minimum to balance out a $30M/yr salary.

Dak, Zeke and Amari combining for about $70M/yr would require about 23 others at league minimum.

This is from a season and a half ago.

It also fails to mention that at the same exact time his offensive tackle let his brains get splattered into the turf.

Nevertheless, Dak did go through a really bad streak. But saying it’s just because of Zeke just isn’t true.

Yeah, but....Mahomes was super last year. Let's wait a couple more years before we give him more money than Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, etc..

I think NFL teams are going to have to draw a line in the sand at some point because it won't be long until quarterbacks start asking for $60 million-plus annually.
