hmm, interesting. Clowney is more of a fit for a 4-3 DE than a 3-4 DE or OLB....

but would probably like to get a few low round picks for taco and or Montgomery....perhaps zeke and taco for clowney and duke johnson and a 4th.

Folks are complaining about paying arguably the best RB in the League due to cap reasons and wanting to be able to sign other players. Yet, would entertain having to pay another $100M contract to a DE?

DE,a good one is worth more than a RB. if Clowney and Lawrence can bring the pass rush, then we wreak havoc on Offenses. pass rush is key. rushing leaders aren't

Zeke is a much better running back than Clowney is a defensive end.

Do we know this to be true?

Zeke has great counting stats....efficiency on the other hand...

And even if we knew this to be true...i'd take a comfortably above average DE over an excellent RB everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.

but that's the issue. he is a knuckle head. he had another incident this summer in Vegas. yeah, he didn't get suspended, but hand him 15M a year, 40 mill guaranteed and what promises do you have for him not to get himself in trouble?

I don't need to try again, Zeke has missed twice as many games as Clowney the last three seasons. And now there's a chance he'll miss more to start the season.

There's his mishap in college
Then he lifts up a girls shirt on Saint Patty's that he didnt get suspended for
Then he gets in an altercation with a security guard and doesnt get suspended

there is always something. a car accident. issues with girl in college. mishap in vegas. we don't hear any of that about anybody else.

missing games. is missing games....suspension or injury. if it was a one time issue with Zeke, I would say ok, one and done. but after college issue that he got suspended for (fairly or unfairly). he had a car accident that seems to be stinking up now. then pulling shirt up at a party. then getting into it in vegas. the worry is that he is now an easy target. giving him $15 mill a year....what guarantees do we have he won't screw up!

Don't disagree but NO WAY Dallas would pay two DEs over $100M. Houston won't even do it and they already have Clowney with Watt.

Yea that’s kind of what I’m thinking. I’d rather pay a DE 20m than a RB 15m. DE’s are wayyyy harder to find

Really? Zeke was the first RB since Emmitt that is a true top RB on this team. Murray showed flashes, but unless you want to return to the Felix Jones and Barber days, Zeke is it. His kind of talent is not common.

They don't. By all reports they offered him a deal that would make him "Top 5" at is position even though he would have signed the most recent deal.

That's as good a giveaway as possible about their views on his relative talent.
