actually rat may be back. may need to restart operation catnip
Wally, you need to go to the ace hardware store, drop $6 or so on those green square poison rodent baits, they have a hole in the center of them , so you can wire/tie them down to something, I had a pretty good pack-rat population going on when I'd first stepped into that swimming pool house,I was shooting, trapping & poisoning them out to complete eradication, one moved in overnite under the hood of my truck& it had packed a corn cob & stashed it inside of the heater/ defroster blower motor housing ,man ,I turned it on the next day & it started thumping & clunking around in there ,making one heck of a racket, after I'd pulled it apart & found out what it was? That was it,the war was on, as my ol' lady didn't want me introducing poisoned baits into the ecological food chain or whatever the hell she was railing on about, I was like "too bad for you, girlfriend, as it's committed total war now", I wired a couple of those green cubes down under the hoods of "fleet" and noticed a couple days later where they'd been eating on them a little & then never cut sign of them again.

putty previously used traps and poison from home depot etc.
went as far as the professional liquid poison stuff.

the problem is the space between the two walls is 1.5 feet which makes it really nice place to rats to go
believe it or not, the catnip plan has had the best results
it gets the rat usually on the first day of use, actually shocking how quick the results happen (knock on wood)...

So, yer' actually attempting in the "selling" to me,that the brainchild brilliance of "operation catnip" is a masterstroke of Putty-Powered success? Which entails the hoped for beguilement of feral cats ,succumbing to the irresistible draw of piles of sardines & catnip strategically placed on & around yer' San Francisco luv shack, is maintaining the "snoozing/ not hungry anymore " feral cats presence on your property long enough for them to become well rested & hunger once again, to hunt down& kill your vermin wall rat infestation ?,,, O.K. sure thing, you betcha', PUTTY-BUDDY & Copy!
