Hello everyone, I’m from South Wales and been following the Cowboys since 82.
Was previously on another board, but sadly that’s died a slow death... Glad I’ve joined here as it looks really busy with loads of people using the forum.
Also good to see a lot of familiar names from the previous forum I was using :)

Welcome Neath and we've got several posters from the UK here, Londonboy is an absolute giveaway and a very funny man for an old hippie and just in love with the word "y'all", but you are the first I've intermet from the Land of Tom Jones. You will be pleased to know that I have an autographed sock from Tom Jones that I keep down the front of my pants. It's got Maxx after his initials and I just figured he was feeling all full of himself when he signed them.

Please try not to use that UK accent in your posts that makes the rest of us feel ignorant and slothy.

Thanks Coach and don’t worry about my UK accent as I’m Welsh not English and we’re not as posh as they are

Cyfarchion NB.
No matter how many times I tell 'em that I look like Charles Manson and sound like Bob Hoskins, Folks round here insist on reading My posts in a Hugh Grant accent and visualizing Me as an urbane sophisticate.

Y'all had a mighty fine win yesterday (We got robbed, that Try shoulda been disallowed), guess We'll have to see Who's best in the RWC.

They seem to think most of us live in castles as well lol
Should be a great RWC, though I can’t see passed New Zealand as the eventual winners.
Wales and England will probably split who beats who over ten games, 50/50... but I’ve no confidence in Wales beating New Zealand or Australia... Whereas England know they can beat either of them on their day.

History might be against Wales at the RWC, but this current group seems to have a strong inner confidence. Despite Their recent Wallaby crushing, the AB's are far from invincible. The Wallabies blow hot and cold. The 'Boks seem to be getting it together, but are a bit too fragile mentally, likewise the Pumas. france are a mess, but could be dangerous. Scotland lack depth and oomph up front. Ireland seem to be slipping, but if They can stay healthy, could surprise a few.
I'm gonna start a RWC thread in the other sports zone when it starts(I wonder if it will prove to be as popular as My Ashes thread).

I really can’t understand why the French are so poor... and not just poor, but without their natural flair as well.
When they’re playing well, I think France are the most entertaining team to watch, but for a decade now they’ve been absolutely rank.
This RWC seems to have come around a couple of years too late for Ireland, they can still be dangerous, but both England and Wales slaughtered them in the last 6 Nations.

Unlike the 4 Home Unions, where the National Team has priority over Club Rugby, Club Rugby is king in france, instead of 30 or so Players spending 6 or 8 weeks together, building the continuity and chemistry needed to succeed on the pitch and only being released back to Their Clubs if not needed for matches, in france players get together for a week and often play for their clubs in the week between 6 Nations fixtures, consequently they lack continuity on the pitch and appear jaded and tired, the Coach can never seem to decide who his best players are, so constantly chops and changes his selection, the laissez-faire approach to fitness training at Club level means they all too often run out of gas in the last 20 minutes of matches.
The fact that they'll at least have the same group of players together for an extended period and might actually put a team on the pitch that doesn't play like 15 strangers who only just met is why I think they could be dangerous, the results that French clubs put up in the European Cup clearly show that the issue isn't lack of talent

I think the European Cup is probably a big reason why their national side is having issues... Too many overseas players in the club sides.
It’s whats hindered the development of young English players in the Premier League this last couple of decades... though at last young players are now getting their chances at the top clubs more than they did.

There's some truth to that too, especially in key positions like half-back.

Hey Neath, I gave you a Like and I want you to know why. You come back here to respond to folks welcoming you and that's a good way to start your posting career here. I don't give my Likes to strangers just because they show up, I want to see the cut of their jib. You got a dandy jib there and I sure as hell hope that a jib is what I think it is.

You blokes from across the pond have your own vernacular and I might have just intimated that I should meet your parents.
