Depends on your definition of "fully honored." Fans tend to define it differently when discussing owners vs. players. The good players are expected to play out their contracts for whatever amount of years and money was promised on signing day and if they hold out they are whiny overpaid babies. With players that aren't so good, teams should be able to cut/traded and move on from with as little financial ramifications to the team as possible.

Fully honored, if you applied it to owners the same way fans want it applied to players, would mean they have to pay you for the full life and value of the contract.
No, no and no, that is not the way it works and everybody knows this when they sign it - they fully honor it or they would be sued.

I guess that means Zeke is gonna hold out until he gets a new contract (oh wait).

I feel disrespected by that drunken clown playing GM for 30 years.

Can someone give me a hug?

Points scored 2018
Gurley 126
Zeke 54
1992 Emmitt 114

More than double. Where in that equation is Zeke the best RB or should be the highest paid RB in football? He's good, but to some people he's way overvalued. But lets throw as much cash as possible at him. lol Cowboys made a legit offer and of course that's never good enough.

Read the last line. I'm aware how it works.
I read the last line - there is no such thing as "fully honored" it is the same as "honored" meaning abiding by the terms. If you don't understand that the signing bonus is the Owners poison just like the remaining years at contracted rate is the players poison, I don't know what to tell you!

And that's exactly why a deal will eventually get done.

There's not a chance that Dallas could recoup the draft pick value. No team in the league will give up anything close for him.

He's stuck with the Cowboys, the Cowboys are stuck with him.

You are most likely correct . I just hope if the deal gets done we are not stuck with a business decision maker or a Jay Ratliff situation because he thinks Jerry done Dissed him .

As far as Im concerned if Tony Pollard could give us similar production and no off field issues . The whole league could Kapernick his butt for all I care and leave him to find work in Canada

No it doesn't. You get a raise when it's your time to get one. It's not Zeke' s time and he's not making the owner money by himself.
What if when you were hired your boss said you could get a raise after 3 years. And now 3 years is up.

Is that the procedure, that at some point the team can send a letter and Zeke is out for the year? I suppose that makes sense. The team shouldn't be required to wait however long Zeke chooses. It doesn't seem like that gets used very often though.

This only applies if you report to camp and leave. The five day letter doesn't apply to holdouts who don't report to camp at all.

He went toe to toe with Goodell and paid millions in fines. On top of watching his team not get a single holding call for 9 straight games.

He watched his team blow chunks against good teams and struggle against scrubs, while not making the play-offs, meaning loss in revenue.

Zeke has been top five in jersey sales since he’s been on the Cowboys, meaning that money goes into his pocket.

Jerry got fined because of his challenging the contract of Goodell, which was independent of Zeke. Jerry ended up getting what he wanted, via plenty of incentives in Goodell’s contract. The league wanted to give Goodell over 30 million per league straight up, meaning Jerry would have lost more than the 2 million he was ‘fined’ which he probably didn’t even end up paying.
