Well he has all the makings of an elite player. He's only really had one full season on a good leg. I just see someone who has gotten consistently better for 2 seasons. Don't think he's at his ceiling or even that close yet.
He's not. I'm convinced he wasn't 100 percent even last year. But you could tell the speed he has even when he was sliding past the quarterback two years ago because he couldn't change directions.
This guy is going to be a monster this year. I think he will FINALLY be 100 percent. And if so, watch out!

From all accounts, Jaylon Smith is not only an exceptional football player but a good person.

Zeke, on the other hand, is an exceptional football player and an absolute immature douchebag.

Sometimes people like to see the good guy win.

Oh boy, let's justify a bad contract with name calling! Great contribution!

Zeke needs to be at least tied for highest paid not just top five. They have offered Dak and Cooper top 5 money already. I don't know what the guarantees are but 30 million is enough. With Dak though I'd be tempted to make it fully guaranteed. The reason being is he is never hurt. The only time he was is when he played Seattle last year when he ran for that 3rd and 14 and almost got a TD and got hit in the knee. He d we deserves more guaranteed money than Wentz does that is no doubt. There shouldn't even be an argument about that if wentz got 107 then Dak needs 115 . Its that simple. That's almost all guaranteed but that's ok. He deserves it but at the 30 million per season rate.

He will be paid the top, although this conversation should be next year.

And Jack has a possible degenerative knee issue that could cut his career short... Jaylon is recovered from his knee issue and back at full strength.

LOL. One of those years Smith didn’t even play rehabbing his knee. I sure hope Jack had more tackles than Smith that year.

Oh don't get me wrong, I choose Jaylon over Myles as well. I'm just playing Devil's advocate with the facts. Nothing I said was inaccurate. ;)

I am so excited that he is signed. The injury he suffered could have been a career ender but this kid NEVER gave up. Hats off to JJ and company for rolling the dice and taking the chance on him, it paid off. Now lets go play young man!

Yeah and the year after he was trash. Zeke has never had a year that bad even when he got suspended.

lol nice reach. He’s still better! you don’t even have anything factual but your admiration. Nothing at all solid that makes him #1besides how great you think he is. He had 66 more touches on the season and the difference was 170 yards? lol that’s not in zekes favor either. Top 3 moneys fair. Highest paid RB is grossly misinformed and overvalued.

Rehabilitation makes you money?? His first year the play went one way, while he went the other way. He played ok IMO last year but wasn’t in Leightons league. We will see.

This is a signing that i am on board with. Overcame a potentially career ending injury with hard work and dedication. What a good kid, what a good player, he deserves it!

He got paid based on one solid year of production. Now if you want to give him credit for signing a deal this early than I'd do that but with his injury history I'm not sure if it was wise to bet on himself like that anyway. But based on one solid year of production yeah he got about what you can expect. It wasn't a bargain deal he gave them based on his production. Based on his ceiling and where we think he will be in a few years? Probably so.

Ok but what on earth does any of this have to do with my post? My post said nothing about the contract Dak should get lol. And the reports came out that Dak and his camp did not ask for 40 million.

And yeah of course he got paid based on his future. Of course he did. That's exactly what I Was saying lol.

Naw man he was bad. I get why he was bad. He was coming off a injury that probably should've ended his career. Its no shot at him by any means. HE honestly shouldn't have even been playing and definitely shouldn't have been starting while we were in contention. He That's how bad he was that first year he played.

Well if you are going to use stats like touchdowns to determine how good someone is then why not also use the fact one of those guys had Norv Turner, another had Sean McVey and another had........Scott Linehan. I'll let you decipher who had which. Should be pretty obvious by the touchdowns.

When you look at the whole picture, it easy to see a steady upward trajectory in performance out of Smith. That improvement correlates very obviously with his recovery from nerve damage. Add into that he is 24, 2 or 3 years away from his athletic peak, and it should be similarly obvious how he projects.

His injury history is one injury of note and a remarkable recovery from it. There is no reason to believe that he is any more likely to get hurt than any other LB and at the same time he projects to recover from any injuries well and ahead of expectations. He's done it before.

The next 5 years project to be his best years as a pro given his age. Of course that is why they are paying him and that is as it should be. Paying for past performance in the Not For Long is bad business.

As for his 2017 season, he was slated to be brought along slowly in a backup role. Lee and Hitchens got hurt and he was forced to play more than i think anyone would have liked. That being said it wasn't all bad.

@ 36:49 - “there is less pie left; make no bones about it.”
Great times, Jerry..:lmao:

These fools better tell their agents to call Steven and get some deals done before the season..

I wonder how stupid Zeke is willing to be?
