Chick-fil-A vs Popeyes chicken sandwich

SOB, I don’t know why you had to start this thread. I’m not a huge fried chicken guy mainly because of the health factor but chicken and waffles and any boneless fried chicken breasts or strips hit the spot on occasion, especially when I’m hungover.

Having said that, about 2-3 years ago I was hungover and hadn’t had fried chicken in about a year. The mood struck and I realized I had never had Popeyes. I got the boneless strips and it was love at first bite. Long story short, I even went to several other places soon after to confirm how good it was and it wasn’t even close, I’ve been eating a lot more Popeyes since.

I’ve had the grilled chicken sandwich from Chick several times but never the fried chicken sandwich, or anything fried from Chick for that matter.

Sooooooo....ever since Popeyes sandwich and these comparisons have come out I’ve had a craving to try both, side by side. This is pretty bad but once I start craving something I won’t stop until I have it so I’m quite sure I’ll have an answer in the near future and will be keeping a close eye on this thread to see others opinions.

I've never gotten the love affair some have with Chick-Fil-A, I think it's bland, don't care for the ownership and what kind of self respecting chicken joint ain't open on Sunday? Plus the hoightie toighties say it's not fast food. Yes, it is.

If you're not having fried chicken or pot roast on Sunday, you're some kind of heathen. However, heathens like fried chicken and pot roast so that doesn't necessarily let you off the hook.

Love that chicken from Popeye's. Hey, that's catchy, maybe I should call them and suggest they use that?
 
Ditto on chick fil a, I've never gotten it. Where I used to work we'd have a quarterly meeting and they'd always bring it in for lunch, it's tasteless. It seems like the place for west end Wandas in their SUVs who pretend it's healthy.lol
Popeyes spicy for me, plus their sides are great too
 
Social media has been going crazy over this sandwich. There are reports of lines wrapped around the building and stores running out of the product.
 
Just look at the difference in size and how much better the Popeyes chicken looks. It looks like Chick Fil A half azzed their attempt and it’ something between fried and grilled. As I said, I don’t eat a lot of fried chicken but if I do it better be friggin fried. I want a good, crisp crust and chicken which Popeyes delivers.

Mother trucker, I may have to get to the bottom of this sooner than later. Popeyes is a bit of a drive but I have a Chick close by, who doesn’t, it’s like Starbucks.
 
I call fast food “sin food” .... all of it. Lol

I tell you what though... chick fix a has the best tasting “clean” chicken,
I don’t feel like a glutton after scoffing some down.


Wendy, Sonic, mcDs etc... I feel like a pig.

And in NY/NJ...chick fil a is the best run ff place. In and out in minutes especially drive through.
And if double line is backed up. You are still gone in 10-12 minutes.
 
Ate chick-fil-a a few times years ago trying to like it as everyone said how good it is but.....just couldn't understand the popularity. Rather have KFC than that.

Popeyes closest place to me is an hour away. Unless one gets built closer may be a while before I get to try it.
 
Love Chik-Fil-A. Hands down, the best chain food IMO. Easily the best chicken sandwich, to me. Popeyes is just OK. I mean, small pieces, very expensive for what you get IMO. It's not bad but I ain't taking Popeye's over the Chik. Not today, not ever.

Were comparing their chicken sandwiches here and the new Popeyes one isn’t small :thumbup:

I love Chik-fil-a, especially the nuggets. Their fried chicken sandwich was my favorite of all the chains until Popeyes came out with theirs. I will never choose Chiks now unless their isn’t a Popeyes around :thumbup:

If you haven’t even tried Popeyes new one, go get one soon then compare. If you have and still prefer Chiks......then I can’t save you :grin:
