If we are talking about regional fast food, that's a whole different discussion. Of course there are going to be better options there. I mean, Chik-fil-a or Popeye's isn't even close to the best chicken sandwich in this town, if we are talking about local offerings.

Well Popeye's made by caring hands would win hands down over chookfilet.

Well I tried em all and I think ya can't beat Chicken Express w cream gravy and a heap of whole jalapenos, a mess of frenchy fries (best evah!) and sides like corn on the cob. Tastes homemade.
ChikFilet place is bland as and rubber chickens, Popeye's -like most fast food especially anything owned by pepsico or yum brands - I wouldn't trust the food safety of eating there if it was free.

I like Chicken Express and I agree about those fries. Their biscuits are really good as well.

Now, Immagonna let all y'all in on a secret for fried chicken and chicken sandwiches and biscuits as well, Mike's Hot Honey. I dun tolt y'all dis stuff is the specialists and it zing's some chicken to another planet.

I used to like KFC but the one here isn't very good but the one thing that is an absolute must for a chili dog? KFC slaw. That with some mustard, a few onions and homemade chili is heaven on a bun.

So after this thread, I ended up hitting up Popeye's for some chicken strips. $11 for a 5 piece. It was solid, but, I still prefer KFC me thinks.

Chic-fil-a isn't bad. A bit overpriced for quantity, but good food nevertheless.

This is exactly it. I don't love Mayo and the spicy sauce at Popeye's is just OK but again, it's not the same as CFA. CFA puts the spice in the breading and even the original breading is just plain better. It's the same reason I like KFC Original better then other chain chicken, it just tastes better to me. As far as the fries go, I like the waffle fries better but neither one are better then McD's so I just don't even care about the fries to be honest. Usually, I just buy the Sandwich and maybe a drink.

McD's fries?....Nah, BK has better fries. But if you want great fries, get Hooters' Big Dipper Fries. They're like steak fries, but puffy, and when done right, the best fries I've ever had anywhere.

Not a huge fan of Hooters fries, I'm sorry to say RWB. I mean, it's not that they are bad or anything, it's just that I ate a lot of them over the years. I have never told you this but my Oldest Daughter was a Hooters Girl. I spent a lot of time at Hooters eating fast food and trying to stop the inevitable. Finally I realized that there was no way on earth I was ever going to be able to stop the bees from the honey, if you get my drift. My Wife finally banned me from the place.

I guess I'm just a little burnt out on Hooters Brother.

But yeah, I like the McD's Fries when they are piping hot. Not quit as good as they used to be but still the best of the bigger fast food chains for me.

My niece was going to work at the Hooters I go to, but she changed her mind because she figured I'd end up in jail...but she did work at one in St. Thomas for a little bit. Now she's working poolside at one of the nearby casinos, serving in a bikini. I'll never go there. lol

Yep, that's exactly what happened RWB. All I accomplished was a couple days in jail, a fine, 8 months of being in the dog house with my Wife and my Daughter hatting on me because I was running all her tips away. Tell ya, can't win in a deal like that.

I was hungry for popeyes a couple days ago and was headed to the drivethru when I saw a line back onto the main road and could not figure what was up. At most, there are usually two cars in line. I was on the phone with my daughter at the time and she heard me ask why the hell is everyone at popeyes. She clued me into all the hoopla. So I ended up going to chic fil a where the line was shorter. Unless popeyes has a tomato to put on it, I wont try it. I have to have lettuce and tomato on any sandwich I eat. I could bring it home and add it. To be continued...

I love Chik-fil-a, especially the nuggets. Their fried chicken sandwich was my favorite of all the chains until Popeyes came out with theirs. I will never choose Chiks now unless their isn’t a Popeyes around

If you haven’t even tried Popeyes new one, go get one soon then compare. If you have and still prefer Chiks......then I can’t save you

OK, just to be real on this deal, I went ahead and drove over to pick up a Popeye's Spicy Chicken Sandwich. I ate it and gotta say, it was pretty good. Size was really great, much thicker then others. All in all, good sandwich but not better then Chick-Fil-A. I mean, the actual size is much better and it's not bad tasting at all but not better to me. Chik-Fil-A is better to me and it comes with cheese. I like that better.
