On-the-job training is over my cowboy family, no more excuses for this young man. I believe college is the new NFL training camp. You no longer have time to sit on the bench and learn behind veterans. Salary-cap dictates this. He was thrown into the fire. and so far he has succeeded , passed all my expectations. Now it's about reading defenses instinctively, knowing what you're going to do before you do it. I love that he's betting on himself before he gets paid. Go Cowboys looking forward to a great season

I like Dak and I feel he's getting better. I also feel that his passing needs to improve dramatically. His instincts are not quite there. He still has to see the target and has trouble throwing receivers open. I look forward to him developing this skill this season. If he does, we will be very good.

My expectations were truly not that high, a fourth-round draft pick sometimes we forget that. We know he has the tools the strength the ability. Now it's time to put it together can you run this franchise this is the season. Personally I don't like that quote. Throw the receiver open. It's almost like a Hail Mary. But that's what he did last game to Gallup. I rather see him hit him in stride. It's coming

But this is his 4th year?
Yes we know it's his fourth year. But it's truly his first year because he should have been on the bench for three seasons . How many first-round quarterbacks were thrown Into the Fire like Prescott and they're already out of the league I don't count the first 3 Seasons I call that on the job training

So what you're saying is we should've kept Romo around to be the starter?

Here we go LOL I know that's what you're thinking. you probably wouldn't have even brought it up . I'm thinking we shouldn't have waited so long to draft a quarterback. I don't think anybody expected Romo to have a season ending injury in preseason. No one expected Kelly-Moore to go down also. How do you not know this

The sit on the bench and learn for 3 seasons way of doing things has been over a long time (a couple of decades …). What you are talking about isn't a recent development. Other than Rodgers and Cousins I don't think there is a quality starting QB that sat for 3 years before being thrown into starting role.

Lost me......are you implying he's decided to wait until 2020 to sign?

Brady's had at least three of them. Many quarterbacks have sat on the bench behind veterans but that's not even the point is it. You're getting ahead of the post.

Too much fan oriented focus is centered on drafted selection. Brady was drafted in the sixth round. Montana went late in the third.

There are more examples of players at every position succeeding beyond what some feel is connected with their slotted draft position. Other players have fallen short of fans using the same criteria.

I say forget draft position. Focus on what any player should be capable of to succeed. The conclusions will not be the same for every player but it will not automatically determine success or failure either.

I agree, but that wasn't my point.

I've been a fan of the Cowboys since day one. Yeah I forgot how long the salary cap has been in place. Go Prescott go Cowboys

I love that you read what is written and don't look too much past it. You're pretty consistent that way. Some people are all over the place. The brain sees a particular word and they drift elsewhere. They forget what was actually meant

Brady started his second year in the league after Bledsoe got injured fwiw.

I too disagree that most QB's nowadays sit for years unless they were never thought to be anything more than a backup who gets a start due ti injuries. Or had to sit behind a legend.

Wilson started early, Wentz, Trubisky, Luck etc. Mahomes sat for 15 games, but was the starter year two.

I think any point, that is similar to your own, should not include draft position as an element in bolstering it.

No one forgot. Does it really matter? Any player will either get or not get the job done based entirely on their own abilities and circumstances. That is my point.
