If you’re already making him the 2nd highest, just pay the difference and make him the highest.

I don’t want to lose an elite talent over a few million.

If he remains in your future plans, you pay the man. If not, why offer up to the 2nd highest?

My only problem is, when somebody else gets their money (Gordon) is he happy being the 2nd highest paid? Or is this a revolving door

The Gurley contact mess up the whole market. The Cowboys have no plans of paying that much for a RB.

They do it because they want to win and Zeke gives us the best chance. He is not going to get more than what Gurley got, he just isn't so he better sign or sit!

No matter what the hold out worked because he's getting more than he would if he had showed up to camp.

Ezekiel Elliott in my opinion is an uncontrollable knucklehead. He tripped over his own ego on the goal line during the playoffs. He was too slow to take it to the house last season. He put the ball in the ground more than six times he was lucky to get some back. Yes he drags people's for yardage. Imagine if you had his head on straight. I would love to have Elliott for the first game of the season. But I would also like to give a slap on the side of his head to wake him up

That's the lynch pin. Take it or leave it, Zeke. Fair offer and if refused, a trade should be immediately pursued.

That's what I was thinking. The Cowboys have already said Le'Veon Bell "reset the market".

We've reached the critical point in the Zeke saga. I truly believe this is his "take it or leave it" offer.

Everything I said is factual as well.

You simply cannot make an argument that Zeke is better than Gurley when Zeke led the league in touches and had only 8 total TD's while Gurley had both more total yards and more then double the TD's at 21. Its a silly argument made by a silly guy.

And Gurley doenst beat his women and get drunk in public or get suspended.

Not at all. It succeeded before him, with two different backs, and knee far outgaining him, and it will succeed after or without him.

It's about the offensive line and always has been.
What happened in 2015, how bout 2017?

Still would have made him think twice about the contract seeing us win without him. It was a game of a chicken and the Jones boys pulled over about a mile ahead.
They got punked, I dont blame them, emmitt punked him to.

IMO it was Bell. Gurly was the benchmark but Bell being an elite RB took less money which is what Stephen is hanging his hat on.

Yup and just because people think Zeke is better than Gurley than he should be paid more than Gurly. It’s not the Cowboys fault the Rams were idiots for paying him that much and the Cowboys sure as hell shouldn’t pay Zeke that much.

If that is true then why do so many say Barry Sanders is better than Emmitt?

Zeke had plenty of TDs his rookie year. He has proven he can score running and receiving. Last year the offense as a whole struggled in the redzone so it was not just Zeke.

Everything you said is correct. Which shows absolutely that Zeke, like Dak is dependent on the players around him and the scheme and coaching. It also shows the him, like many many great backs aren't worth big time money. Especially when you hae the most expensive line in the NFL.

Even Gurley struggled his first two years when the Rams Oline and offense was terrible. He only blew up when McVay got there.

:lmao:Dak fumbles 3times as much and hardly gets hit..some of his sweat out of his hands like a soap bar.. hes ranked outside the top 10 and turned down top 5 money? just because he didnt hold out doesnt make him better, he knows no matter what he does he will make twice what EE gets and thats the REAL ISSUE...same with Amari both are knuckleheads turning down top 5 money when they are clearly not top 10..NEXT EE earned top 2 money..you can argue EE is better because of health alone..that knee on Gurley will for sure shorten his career , EE doesnt have any of that..SJ started this BS last spring when he said in PUBLIC that EE earned Gurley money and that the starting point..

How did they cave in? Zeke wants to be the highest paid and they’re offering a contract which would make him the second highest paid. I’m sure when they made the initial offer they knew they’d have to come back with a better one eventually.
Hello??? Zeke is holding out and demanding top pay even though he still has 2 years left on his current contract. Not that hard to compute or understand.

Bell is more of an indicator then Gurley. Gurley was resigned by his own team and obviously overpaid. Bell was an unrestricted FA and could have signed with anyone. The Jets suck so this was obviously the most anyone was willing to pay him in the open market.

My post made no such argument. The last 2 years the offense as a whole really struggled in the redzone. From coaching, play calls, and player execution. It all sucked.

As for Zeke's TD production, he has avg a little more than 11 per year (16,9,9). If he plays a full season this year then I would expect he scores 10-14 TDs.

The conversation as far as I'm concerned wasn't about Prescott . Would you like me to give my opinion on him . And I didn't call Elliott knucklehead because of money. You made the conversation about everyone else but.
