As long as it's not Ed Werder saying it, I am hopeful for Zeke's return. Ed will say anything to justify his paycheck to his ESPN bosses.

At the rate this is going, why not close the deal so he can join his teammates tomorrow night and get a few carries? It's what I would now do if I'm Stephen.
Elliot in his first year had some carries against the seahags and had some big preseason collisions with there safeties. Since them I don’t think he has played in the preseason games. But seeing the hold out then JJ may put him in. But since JJ is paying him then he don’t want to lose money. He won’t play.

Zeke would be an idiot, which all know he is, if he takes this deal. Why settle for second best if you know you’re the best? He’s admitting he’s not as good as Gurley. Don’t let Jerry slap you around like this Zeke!
Since when do the proletariat have an interest in millionaires getting even more money? I just want the team to play football with or without him.
It is arguable that he is the best - it's not a fact. I honestly couldn't care less about his obscenely large income getting more obscenely large - but then I'm a big meanie who thinks team and character is more important than the individual. Just how I was taught in sports my whole life but yeah I know things have changed - and not for the better.
<---clapping for myself cause no one else will

It's how I feel as well. Team success and love of the sport should come before greed and personal gain.

I apologize, you must not be familiar with my posts and therefore my true thoughts about this situation. I was being extremely sarcastic and couldn’t agree with you more. No need to have to clap for yourself, I will applaud your post good sir.

That's great, and I agree with much of that.

But it doesn't change the clear truth that Zeke is by far the best and most impactful player on this football team, and they are headed to 8-8 or worse without him.

Travis Frederick, Zack Martin, Rayne Prescott, Leighton Vander Esch, Jaylon Smith and DeMarcus Lawrence are going to be calling you.

All the arguing back and forth will be for naught once this RB proves or disproves his worth. JJ will again look like a fool if he doesn't. Last year he led the league RBs in fumbles and was ranked 18th. Another stellar performance like that after a huge premature contract that included thumbing his nose at Jerry with 2 years left to go on his contract - will have JJ downing even more whiskey and this message board hitting new posting records..
A losing season which results in more excuses for JG by the FO and a lifetime contract will just melt down the board servers. :D
Going to be fun to watch!!
Dak fumbles even more from option hes hardly hit like Zeke. Odd he will make double what Zeke makes at least Zeke truly is top market guy the top 3 RBs arguably could be #1. Dak well hes actually ranked out of the top 10..sorry good try but the hate and trolling is insane for one of the best players on our team..he will and has earned top money whereas Dak is robbing the cowboys at over 30...

Lets just stop focusing on the players money and get to game 1 with our BEST 22 starting and yes Zeke is part of that..you dont like it root for the Texans. You then can complain that in 56 years and 2 franchises have ZERO Sbs not just 5 and a drought lol

Like I said in another thread, replace Zeke with Heath and tell what you think would've happened (lol)

gotta love the people without in-demand, highly-specific skills declaring what *they* would do if in this situation.
they wouldn't fight for the most money they could get! they wouldn't care what market value is! they'd play for the love of the game! anything to help the team! i KNOW i would do this, despite never being close to this scenario!

Differs from fan to player. Players gotta make as much as they can in there prime. But to me getting 25 million in the first 4 years would have me set for life even if I only clear half. Heck I could retire you and me with that. Now he will likely make another 30-40 million.

I heard some old players saying in the day they didn’t want to reset the market. Just a dollar more than the last contract. Not millions.
