The Cowboys Need Elliott More Than Elliott Needs the Cowboys

That's the title of the article - don't @ me.

The Cowboys need Elliott more than he needs the franchise, and he is good enough to warrant a big contract, even bigger than Gurley’s. Dallas relies on Elliott to make their offense run the way they want it to...The Cowboys have neither an offensive genius on the headset or a generational talent at quarterback.

Dallas loses the crux of their offensive system and any hopes of championship contention in what will be their last year of financial flexibility before the bill comes for all the young talent they’ve accumulated. They may have the contractual leverage, but as far as the football goes, they need Elliott. And he knows that.

It's an interesting take. I think the Cowboys and Zeke need each other. Pollard has looked good, but is Jerry ready to roll those dice this season given other contracts coming soon and his desire for another trophy?

I’m sorry, Jake. I’m just tired of it now. Tell me when he signs but otherwise I want to focus on who’s playing.

Team before the individual.

Zeke has been a super talented pain in the ***. Ride the pine and fine him to the max.

No one is bigger than the team. I am a Dallas Cowboys fan. I want the best long term solution to include Zeke, but right now he is coming off like a punk.

Run with the rook for a few games. Dak is getting better. Kick some *** without the ego.

I definitely don't think he has all the cards but I also don't buy the "Zeke has no leverage" line I've read here many times.

The Cowboys want him to come back. That's why they're making offers when they really don't have to do anything.

i mean he has the leverage of his talent. That’s a given, but they have a talented team, line and we’ve seen time and again that these studs can be adequately replaced by inferior players.

At this point, I'm imagining what it will be like if Dallas makes Zeke the highest paid RB next week. He'll never meet the fan expectations that will come with it, given how many of them he's ticked off with his holdout. If he pulls a hammy in week one it'll be meltdown time.

I guess he wouldn't care because he got his contract, but this feels like it's not going to work out best for the Cowboys no matter what happens now.

this is my thing. Kinda no win situation for the most part. If he performs at an all all pro level he’s just living up to the contract. And if he doesn’t... yikes

Zeke wants a long term contract, teams are really shy about giving long term contracts anymore. We are willing to pay him the big bucks, for a couple years. No thank you to a 4-5 year contract. IMO he is trade bait now.

I didn't say I "believe" anything he said. It's a different take so I shared it. I don't recall requiring you to read it or to agree with it.

I couldn't care less about where the author lives or his hobbies.
Than don't post as such from a writer whose from New England & is a nobody. Being you DON'T recall, last time I checked, the reasoning for forums is TO READ.

I clicked on the writers name and his Wikipedia came up, which informed me not to bother reading such. Sadly you didn't. It's obvious you care less.

No they don't.

Actually, I couldn't care less (as I stated previously).

If you want to go through life deciding whether a perspective other than your own is worth reading based on where the author lives and their hobbies, knock yourself out. It's a great way to make sure you never get exposed to anything that doesn't already exist in your personal echo chamber.

His off the field issues will continue before an injury.

I gave you a like but I think we are a better team with Zeke. However I don't think Zeke is the most important player on the team and he can be replaced. Might take a committee but we can run efficient, if not than why spend money and top picks on building the OL.

We're definitely a better team with Zeke. But enough is enough.

This team is GOOD. Lightning fast and deep on D. Great Front 7. Excellent OL.

I'll take my chances of losing Zeke it means LVE, Jones, Cooper, Collins can all return.

You know... the players that look like they want to be Cowboys.

LMAO. He's NOT AN AUTHOR. He's some shumck who posted an article whose obviously a New England fan downing Dak and the Cowboys. If you were smart enough to click on the writers name of an article you wouldn't fall for such nonsense. Don't worry about my life and perspectives, it's yours you need to worry about after falling for a haters article. No need to reply. As @cowboy_ron would say.... "you can't fix stupid", nor arrogance. :lmao:
Ignore Ignited!
