Spagnola: the truth behind Emmitt-less losses *MERGE*

But if you don't have the full context, doesn't that make you dumb in your response?
At any rate, I've already addressed your point. I don't operate as if I'm infallible. It's not a huge blow to my ego if I misspeak. It is for some people, though. Shrug.
nope....saw it posted..done..

let it go, did it hurt your female parts so much you are going on and on about it..jeez…:muttley:

puts some ointment on it, it will get better..:lmao:

Says the man who authored yet ANOTHER post because he must have the last word.

And by all means, elevate your level of insults if thou doeth persist with thine barbs. I mean something more collegiate or Shakespearean will do. The emasculation-by-female-anatomy trope died in the Neanderthal and Cro magnon epochs. ;)

I read that. It's odd. My feeling was Lassic sucked. Could be losing tainted my view of his performance.

You just missed the real point that the Cowboys turned the ball over EIGHT times in those first 2 games and Aikman had 2 really bad days throwing picks late in both games for a total 5 picks in both games preventing both games as wins. In other words Emmitt's absence had little or no cause for the losses. I do have to say though that at the time I too was saying the Cowboys needed to get Emmitt resigned because I had this idea that with Emmitt back all of the other Cowboys would go back to playing as good as they normally did.

That point didn't escape me. I just pointed out that my memory of Lassic was not all together true.

"Pretty lame to blame a 35-16 season-opening loss to the Commanders at RFK and a 13-10 home loss to a Buffalo team they had smoked 52-17 to win Super Bowl XXVII that same year on Jan. 31 on not having Emmitt. Shame on any of us who might have fell for that b.s."

Gotta love revisionist history...

Won't be long before Bryant's catch in Green Bay is actually a catch .....

That was my first thought, I don't remember anyone blaming him. I was 19 and no internet, but the fans I knew and talked to didn't blame him

Yeah, I never heard any of the fans I knew blame him...………...we all knew the difference was no Emmitt.

Funny how times change, back then there was no Internet for fans to discuss anything. I got my Cowboy news from the Austin American Statesman and the Cowboys Weekly magazine. Even after the 90s past and we were in the 2000s, all we had in the area I live was rural dial up. Literally took like 2 min for a page to load, can you imagine that today, LOL.

Its crazy. When I first joined this forum in 2002, I had dial up still. Lol

LOL, I hear you bro...……………..you want to know what is really crazy.

I live about 30 miles from Austin in a rural area, lots of ranches around where I live, and Time Warner didnt extend their fiber optic cables for high speed internet to my area until 2015!

Oh, I believe it.

When I see the word “Truth” associated with the name “Spagnola”, it gives me pause, lol.

Haha. Good one.

For me even reading his name gives me a pause. I don't read his crap anymore. And i don't miss anything.

You were right the first. Lassic did suck.

Spags isnt off, because those games were incredibly sloppy, and that sloppiness ( especially in Washington) was the main reason we lost. But Lassic was still a bad HB

Sherman William's was a little bit better but still pretty bad.

Warren was the only back up I remember Emmitt having that was decent.

I dont NEED to read EVERY response I respond to the OP, also skim down and respond to a response I dont agree with WITH MY OWN NATURAL THOUGHT, IDC if someone also felt the same way and responded, this is an open forum and you need to stop trying to be Site **** and MYODB..seriously *** do you have the right to tell me when and how im supposed to respond.. we fly back in time to Censorship in the media?
the fact that you still are focused on it its laughable, not the last word your remarks are hollow and unnecessary to begin with, saying discussed and late to the party was the issue..you dont get to do that , crawl back in your cubicle and stay out of my business..

theres are 100s of post and new threads that discus the same and I mean redundant discussions that arent being erased by MOds..obviously we all dont read every line of every post and have the right to start new threads or new responses.

back to your hold ****

Derrick Lassic CAREER stats: 75/269yds/3.6 YPC. He had zero carries after that year, 1993. Repeat, he never carried the ball again in a regular season game. Ever.

Lassic was a poor quality backup.

That’s because he wrecked his knee in preseason of 1994.
