2019 NFL playoff predictions

O-line- slight edge Eagles. Dallas isn’t as deep and they give up a lot of sacks. Part of that is Dak holding the ball but I’ll take the Eagles. Both have pro bowlers coming back (Fredrick & Brooks) so how they do wil play a big factor.
RB- assuming Zeke signs, Dallas. One of the best 3 backs in the NFL
WR- Eagles slight edge- purely a depth thing. Cooper is the best of the two teams but as a whole I think the Eagles have a better group top to bottom
TE- Eagles. IMO they could have the best TE group in the league. Sorry but when a 37 yr old Jason Witten is your best TE your group isn’t great
QB- Push- talent wise Wentz is better but Dak never gets hurt and he’s clutch. Wentz needs to stay healthy and show he can bring a team back.

D-line- Push- Eagles have better interior players, Dallas has better DE’s.
LB- Dallas, not even close. Best LB Corp in the NFL
CB- Eagles are young and I have no idea what they really have. Call it an edge for the Eagles
S- Eagles slightly. Malcom Jenkins is still a very good S.

ST- Eagles. Kicker and punter are solid. K has performed isn’t he clutch.

Coach- Eagles. Sorry there isn’t an argument here.

Overall these two teams match-up well. I think if Wentz stays healthy the birds win the divisio, if he goes down Dallas takes it. I think both teams make the playoffs. Obviously if Zeke’s holdout continues that is an issue.

Picking a team other than Dallas is the safe bet. When was the last time a team won the division 2 years in a row?

That's why they picked them.

I think the O-line is a push. You have better depth but our starters are a little bit better as a group. If both lines stay healthy edge to Cowboys, but if injuries hit your team will be better positioned to withstand losses.

NFC East champs

1. Philadelphia Eagles (23 votes: Baldinger, Battista, Bergman, Bhanpuri, Carr, Casserly, Cersosimo, Chadiha, Dameshek, Filice, Gbajabiamila, Grant, Hanzus, Jones, Mariucci, O'Hara, Parr, Patra, Rank, Reece, Rosenthal, Schein, Sessler)
2. Dallas Cowboys (6 votes: Blair, Brandt, Hall, Jones-Drew, Thomas, Trotter)

Why Steve Mariucci chose the Eagles: The Eagles return their key offensive pieces, including Carson Wentz, and added depth to the backfield with Jordan Howard and Miles Sanders, while the defense also returns plenty of starters. From top to bottom, Doug Pederson's group is the best in the East

IMO, that is insulting and on nfl.com no less - hope the team sees this
What if they do see it? Do you think any of this matters to them? Most have picked the Eagles to win the division and I am picking them as well because I think they're the better team as long as Wentz is at 100%. I think they are the best balanced team in the NFC on paper.

The tricky part of this is that some of this doesn't work out. Every season we see disappointing teams and surprise ones show up. ATL, CAR, NO, CHI, GB, MIN, PHL, DAL, LAR and SEA are all in the running for the NFC. And most likely, that team will need some luck along the way. And while we're all about the Eagles are vulnerable with Wentz possibly going down, every one of those 10 teams is as well.

I'll take a Stud def-line over a Stud off-line any day of the week!
Wentz is a better QB than Dak and this Zeke thing is still up in the air.
They also have a top Off-line at half the cap rate we do which enables them to pick up a Clowney.
Better coaching.
Better GM.
Add to the fact that Clowney looks like he's headed to Bird land ya there are valid reasons to be worried about the Eagles.
A division Title this season will not be a easy ride....

hmmm, it's safe bet you thought PHL would win the East last year - do you have trouble learning?

I'll take our OL and DL vs any

as for Zeke, I'm hoping for a Hershel Walker 2.0 trade

Wentz' game is as fragile as your argument

so if the Giggles have better coaching and FO ... how ... SB to wild card due to losing 2 close games with us?
and let me remind you in 2018 the Boys rebuilt the O with 6 new starters and a lame duck OC

may I also remind you when we last saw these teams play each other
http://www.nflgsis.com/2018/REG/14/57772/Gamebook.pdf
with Kelce on the field and Frederick on the sidelines ... DAL put up 320y more yards on O that day than PHL
but hey you and most say Pedersen is brilliant

Clowney - I'd rather have Hill, Covington, Quinn, and Hyder (all for about the same cap hit as Clowney)
think about it ;)

any way you cut it Cox vs Williams and Ertz vs Heath are the only match ups they win
which could be enough, but I doubt it

a NFCE title is never easy - that's how it's supposed to be

Thank you for you comments of total clarity!

Coach is a show me kind of fan -I respect that but here's thing - the Boys got way better in the off season

I know how conditioned we all are to be negative - but just look at this team - these Boys are pretty good

I'm half way right about this Wentz won't have time to get to Ertz late over the middle
go look at the stats of the 2018 games
we have a real bull rush, not a once in a blue moon unique performance from Irvin once or twice a season
that's huge, in the modern NFL you have to even impact the pocket on 3 step throws, that means up the middle

this is a far better D than walked off the field last year

on O Frederick and Witten fix the red zone issues and 5 pretty good now familiar WRs
that also means a clean pocket and they are serious about doubling the # of deep throws
* news flash no set of DBs can run with Coop, Gallup, or Austin for very long - they ain't here by accident

has it occurred to you common sense play calling adds 7+ points a game to this O

let give you a simple example, say you double the number deep passes from 2.5 a game to 5 game and Dak's deep comp rate drops from his respectable 47% to 40% ... and you get those extra 5x throws a game by just snapping the ball quicker,

35 ATTs a game rather than Dak's career avg of 30, you still just doubled the number of 20y completions
Frederick can get Dak 2 or 3 more deep shots a game

this 2019 O will often blow teams out

This is a gift. Cowboys are always better as the underdog.
