Meh, he’s an immature kid but a heck of a RB.. I’d give him a deal that let’s me walk away and recoup money if he gets in trouble or misses games for any reason.

High risk, high reward. All the personal mumbo jumbo is irrelevant, this is football, not customer service...

I think that is the hangup.

I think they offered less guaranteed money if they can't get a contract that they can get out of if he gets suspended again.

He'll get more money but less guarantees in a contract they can get out of.

I am a big fan of the talent, but for the first time since we drafted him, I am ready for him to be gone. Even Hollywood Henderson, Charles Haley, and coked-up Michael Irvin were not this much of a distraction. Since he’s been here, we’ve been constantly dealing with domestic violence allegations/suspensions, pulling a woman’s shirt down, public drunkenness/assault of a security guard, and now a holdout with 2 years left on a contract. He is a cloud over the franchise and no longer worth the hassle. I don’t even care if he reports before week 1, I am no longer a fan.
The attention is really only different because we're in the age of social media.

If Irvin had sliced a teammate's neck in 2019, there'd be a media and social media firestorm like nothing we've seen before.

That, and he'd probably go to jail because Jerry couldn't cover it up as well as he did in the mid-90s

Start at 1:27 of this Charles Haley preview with Jerry talking about the helmet incident that took place after the Cowboys second loss without Emmitt in the 1993 season.

Charles tried to take Jerry Jones out (or knock some sense into him) with his helmet because he wanted Emmitt Smith signed so the Cowboys could win again

I never wanted Zeke in the first place. Jalen Ramsey was, and continues to be the right choice.

Yeah but they actually won. These guys win one playoff game a year if we're lucky.
that's true but still doesn't change the distraction factor if they're in this era. It would have been insane.

I'm from the Quincy vs Hutch generation... :(

The first “QB controversy” I witnessed was White vs Hogeboom in the 80’s...:D

Aside from recalling my father begging Staubach to comeback of course...:(

What’s funny about Morton/Staubach was (keep in mind Dallas had yet to reach a SB), everybody was howling about Coach Landry, the coach who “couldn’t win the big one”, and saying that if he couldn’t even decide on a QB, he should be fired, lol!

The biggest Winner/Loser of this Zeke holdout is going to be Dak Prescott and i'll tell you why. If Zeke holds out say the 1st 3 games and we go 3-0 or 2-1 than Dak's barganing position strengthens and Zeke doesn't but if we start out 0-3 or 1-2 than JJ is going to give Zeke his money and then Dak in his negotiations is going to run into the " you can't carry the team" scenario and we aren't going to give you 30m+ per season. We start out 3-0 or 2-1 without Zeke and the Cowboys will give Dal 35m + we start out 0-3 or 1-2 without Zeke and Zeke will get his money and Dak will be offerred under 30m per season, that's the way i see it. I also believe the Cowboys don't really mind this kind of holdout happenning because it is going to tell them who to pay and if we start off well without Zeke then i think trading him becomes a very real scenario. Gonna be fun to see how it finally plays out

There were 4 or 5 Dak commercials on my TV last night. No Zeke...

Yep. Everything selling local to the Dallas area is Dak, Dak, Dak.

That's why Zeke is pushing so hard for a new contract and $$. He ruined all his chances to get endorsement deals with his boneheaded off the field behavior.

Dak is banking on those endorsements.. Zeke had the opportunity to land even MORE deals than Dak but totally blew it because he is a drunk idiot. No wonder he needs more money. LOL

Yeah.. I just think Zeke and his agent are delusional if they think they can go to the Jones's with 2 years left on his current deal and get the contract they want.

The Cowboys season hype videos during first half of game yesterday were all Dak and Dak with a little Cooper, Gallup, and Lawrence sprinkled in.

Zeke may feel like Durant felt with the Warriors.

Emmitt got his contract when the Cowboys struggled and lost games.

Depending on how the season plays out it makes you wonder if they let the market dictate Dak’s new contract going forward...

If we had the mass media and social media of today, back in the early 90's, I think you would have a different opinion.
But I see why you say this.

I am getting to the point where I am done also. Time to play the games with or without him. I hope Pollard balls out and makes Zeke sweat it out. Pollard does not need to lead the NFL in rushing, heck he does not even need to be top 10. Just do what you are supposed to do to make this offense efficient.

The reality is that we're entering the second of his four seasons here where we are staring at him missing a significant number of games for non-health-related reasons. Not good.

And here's the kicker: Does anyone really think the problems will subdue once we hand the man bags of money? History says no.

Lol.....all this hate for a frickin football player! He'll ne back and most of you will be kissing his butt when he starts producing. Go on hating, get it out of your system.
Or now, I'll root for those on the field and I'll root for Zeke as soon as he comes back. Salud!

I say that's how we pay him - bags of money. Every year deliver to his house 1,500 individual bags, each stuffed with 10,000 $1 bills.
