zeke probably just did more collateral damage to the team than goodell did in 2012 with the cap penalty.

I get what you are saying but you are probably going a little overboard. A RB is not THAT important. He can go in tomorrow and take handoffs and run the football. It's a little different if the QB or WR holds out.

What did you want him to do continue to get underpaid for two more years and then franchise tag for two more years and never get a long-term contract?
I applaud Zeke he did not listen to everyone else saying that the running back position has been devalued he knows his worth and got it.

How did Dak perform without Cooper? That's the crutch. I guess you don't want him signed either.

i was hoping that the team could have assessed dak and cooper without zeke.
with zeke, the team will likely go back to garett run to set up the pass mode instead of a modern offense.
that actually could cost us a lot more than the extra $ from zeke.
imagine signing dak to 35m/yr and he is not worth it.
that would set us back by how many years?

i really dont care about the multimillionaire or the multibillionaire.
i just want the team to win championships.
the team had the leverage but was too scared to even take a small chance.
pathetic.

Sorry buddy, that's not very good thinking in the football world. Would you go to a gunfight without a full magazine just to see if you could still win?

do the math.
the front office now has shown its weakness and other agents will want to take advantage.
if 2 stars get the team to guarantee 1 extra year after their prime
how much does that add up to.
assuming that is 15 million for one year, that is 30 million for 2 players.
assume those stars are only worth half of the salary, then that is $15 million.

in comparison, goodell only penalized us for 10 million.

sorry, lets agree to disagree.
remember i am willing to suffer tanking so my tolerance for suffering is pretty high.
i would take the chance and find out what dak and cooper are worth.

It's all numbers, The front office just doesn't want to pay top dollar but by not doing it they end up paying more because the next guy always gets more...look what happened with Goff today, now they have to pay at least $33 to Dak....at least!

The salary cap goes up, player salaries go up always. Just sign the guys, get it done, try to include some team friendly things on the back-end so you can get out of the contract. 3-4 years guaranteed isn't the end of the world for the level of players we are looking at.

Let it go..... you're wrong on this one. This isn't real money. Zeke won't see all of this contract.

the whole thing does not make sense.

1. they should have figured out whether dak and cooper are worth the $. with the giants, Commanders and dolphins, that was the best low-risk opportunity to get them a try-out without zeke. to be honest, i am more pissed at jerry about this than the overpay.
2. there is no large contract for other rb this year. highly highly unlikely. i highly doubt the sd rb will get 10m/year.
3. we are talking about 2 years + 40 million most likely - that is probably 5 years. it is highly unlikely that zeke's prime is going to last another 5 seasons. they overpaid by at least 1 season. no one knows the final structure, but that is probably at least 13 million. obviously that is more than what goodell penalized us for.
