Not that he expects to get anywhere close to Jones money but market value for the position will put him in win win EVEN he's hit with franchise tag.

Julio Jones is expected to push the receiver market to $22 million per year

Falcons receiver Julio Jones arguably is the best in the league at what he does. He’s about to be paid better than any other person who ever has played the position.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL reports that Jones’ new contract extension will pay out roughly $66 million over three years. That’s $22 million in new money.

I think that cooper is a great receiver but I do not think he is as good as jones is. jones catches everything. cooper is limited in some of his routes. I do think that cooper will get 18-20 million a season. I do not see him getting more then jones will be making.

Coop will never see that kind of money in his first new contract & he is smart enough to know it!

Coops salary now is what $13M? 2019 tag for WR is $16M....I'm guessing 2020 could be in the $18M range. Willing to bet Stephens current offer on the table is $16M or less. So he can sit back and next year the tag around $18M will be his floor.

Ya think? lol

Jones is a top 3 WR. Cooper is still proving he's a consistent #1.

no way cooper plays on a franchise tag he will hold out the same way Elliott did this year. coopers agent saw that it worked for Elliott and he will probably advise cooper to do the same.

He'll play......no doubt in my mind. He and Zeke contract situations are apples and oranges. Coop has zero leverage compared to Zeke.

if he has the same season he had last year I see his agent telling to wait for a multi year deal.

This is what D-Law, Zeke, Dak and Amari Cooper's plot has been all about: waiting, delaying, holding out and taking jabs in order to get paid highest in the league at their respective positions. The employees are controlling the company, and Jerry & Stephen have caved in to them.

Who is laughing or excited now? o_O:facepalm:
