Hence why I think Calumnia should be offered as part of reforming our system. There seem to be a lot of fishy accusations going on toward high profile people. It seems to me that a lot of people rush to judgement when they here these sorts of accusations being levied against these sorts of people depending on their bias towards these certain individuals before letting the facts take place.
If this sort of thing is happening to high profile individuals, then I think it's logical to deduce that it is happening to lesser people in terms of stature as well. Thus, I think it is plausible if not likely that there are people in prison who are innocent of these sorts of crimes because people rushed to judgement too quickly. This begs the question of how many people are in prison right now who were subjected to punishment because of a false accusation.
