Solomon Thomas makes sense for Dallas.

Only problem is I don’t see the Niners wanting Taco.

They'd save some cap room now and a bunch next year if they moved on from Thomas. As a traded player, Charlton could be cut at any time without any cap consequences. Basically, they'd be moving on from their draft mistake with little risk.

My guess is that even if they had any interest in a Thomas for Taco trade, we'd have to throw in a pick. I also think Thomas would carry a $4.3M cap hit for us in 2020 and we'd have to trigger his 5th year option for 2021 next off-season.

DE Solomon Thomas,49ers.

Another possible motivation would be is Thomas is their 4th best DE, which means they have a ton of money invested in 4 DE's (Armstead, Dee Ford, Bosa, and Thomas). Plus, they have money tied into DT (Buckner).

Personally, I'd want to see Thomas at 3Tech. I don't think he's an edge guy at all.

If you blame a loss on a missed FG in the first quarter you're overlooking 3 quarters of failed chances to make those 3 points irrelevant. It's called an excuse.
100% exactly what I was thinking when I read his post about a missed FG in first quarter...lol...

We all did. At least everybody who’s not on the Cowboys’ coaching staff, FO, or owners. Heath sucks. Then sucks some more.

Do not despair, Donovan Wilson is practicing again. He won’t be ready to play this week, but by next week he should be active and by the middle of the season I’d be shocked if he hasn’t replaced Heath in the lineup.

Why didn't we play him to try to increase his trade value? We tried to protect him from injury for a potential 7th round pick.

I’d trade Taco Lewis and Maher for a new kicker... probably through in a 6th or 7th too... Maher WILL cost this team at least one game... and it’ll probably be in the dumbest way possible too, like missing a 28 yarder in the 1st quarter...
Is the kicking market that bad that you have to trade for one? Surely there’s some veteran kicker out there who can step in and be reliable

I think there's a reason why we're not using him at present. Probably to be cautious about not getting him injured. It's being discussed, though.

As far as what I've heard lately, there are several teams that have expressed possibility of a trade. Sounds interesting. Nothing definite, so far.

Yeah, plus, the less film of Taco in a real game, the more his perceived value. Maybe Jerry can sell the old "we're just all stocked up here and have one to spare" line.
