Another safety on the move?

Adams is of the highest caliber. 3 contract guy and a strong figure in any locker room. That trade would pay dividends on the field and in the locker room for a decade. I pay that premium gladly

This trade me stuff isn't going to work out for a bunch of those guys. They will end up in a worst situation.

Maybe Miami will take that deal. They got a couple of firsts they don't need.

I dont think there is anything to it.

However if there is any fire, I would give up a 1st and 3rd for Adams. Transformative talent, tremendous football character and leadership

I also think with the elite backs that have been coming into the NFL of late, SS is becoming a more important and possibly harder to fill position than it was before

Two of his years of contract control are gone.

If he follows the trend of other Star Players, he'll want a new contract next year.

Considering the size of the Landon Collins contract, the loss of two years from the Adams contract is very significant.

On the plus side, he is an immediate contributor at the position the Cowboys need long term (Strong Safety).

Adams at SS would give the Cowboys the option of Heath at FS while X.Woods is out.

I don't know why the Jets would want to trade away players. They just signed Le'veon Bell to a big contract. They don't appear to be in (intentional) tank mode.

For a player of Adams caliber, I wouldn't have an issue extending him. If we do it after year 3, it will probably be cheaper than after year 4 or 5. This would be a Cooper trade for me, where you give up the contract control of a first round for guaranteed production at a need position. At some point doing that back to back years might strain the cap, but I think it would worth it for close we appear now

Yep and even if we were to extend him early we still get him for those three cheap years until the extension kicks in. Moot point really

What are the odds we are picking a player that will have the impact Adams does?
Jerry could surprise us I mean back in the day he got 4 -5 great players he thought would put us over the top Deon and Haley come to mind..recently Amari..i mean it could happen

if this start and the opponents coming up weakened he could smell blood and see we are truly ONE great player on that side of the ball away,

why not?

Agree that he seems to be tailor made for today's SS. Not sure what a fair\reasonable trade value is though. Anything on top of a 1st would need to be minimal in my mind. 4th seems pretty steep considering some of the talent that was available in this years 4th round.

I think the problem is that the Cowboys just don't value his position and won't pay it.

This is a position we will constantly draft and replace for cheap.

It's like our nose tackle of the secondary.
