It's seems pretty obvious you want to lick his boots just because he was in the marines. One has nothing to do with the other
lol - you are stretching bad. I had no idea he was in the marines (although it doesn't surprise me), and exactly what favor do you imagine I get from Marinelli by writing what I have.

The reality is that the only substantive complaint you have about Marinelli is with his coaching style - and really you haven't even given substance to that even though there would be a foundation for doing so. You have nothing to back up the idea that he would randomly just decide to go after Taco when clearly the interest of both himself and the team would be to give Taco every chance to succeed.

All you have done is thrown out emotional comments and avoided logic.

They obviously had a blow out. Taco straight up said he didn't like how he was being played. And taco was right. If I was only in to play the run then got yanked on passing downs for randy "smoke" gregory, I would not be pleased. Marinelli obviously didn't like being called out I guess.

I think you are looking for an easy explanation that avoids holding Taco accountable for himself.

First, this was not a one time thing. Read the link. https://www.star-telegram.com/sports/nfl/dallas-cowboys/article223681900.html

Second, it's pretty far fetched to think that after 40 years in football Marinelli has suddenly been afflicted the kind of fragile personal makeup that you attribute to him.

As for not being pleased about sitting on passing downs in favbr of Gregory, nobody would expect him to be happy about that - including Rod Marinelli. Football coaches don't want players that accept mediocrity. But they do want football players that bust their butts to get what they want rather than just whine about it and expect it to be handed to them.

You still seem to be on the bandwagon that Taco should have been handed the role he wants regardless of whether the coaches felt he had earned it. I don't know what your background in sports was, but mine sure wasn't like that.

"Handed the role"? He literally got benched for a guy that constantly leaves the team in a bad way because he can't stop smoking weed.

He got benched on passing downs for a better pass rusher. Besides, did he really think they were going to activate Gregory and not use him?

Even so, that still doesn't excuse a lack of effort, and in fact, that's absolutely the opposite response coaches want to see. Coaches want to see someone take it as a challenge and dedicate himself to proving he should be the one getting those snaps.

Again, I have to wonder what "everyone gets a trophy", "I'm entitled to play" sports environment you played in. Where I played, in every sport I played, it was dog eat dog, and you better bust your butt and prove yourself if you want to play.

lol - hell, you have in several posts all but conceded that Taco may not have given his best effort by making excuses for it, and at one point indicating a person can't play hard when they disagree with the coaching. Which, of course, is nonsense. The real world doesn't work where underlings get to slack off if they don't agree with the boss. That's cause for dismissal in every line of work.

What I am going from is the word of the DC and the front office who have zero incentive for Taco to fail, and the fact Taco was disciplined by the team a year ago for his attitude. You have yet to explain why they would want him to fail. Meanwhile, what you are going from is a dislike of Marinelli's defensive style, which you have repeatedly - and illogically - used as an excuse for saying Marinelli has character defects that have caused him to clash with Taco without cause.

To be rational you have to be able to separate a difference of opinion on the X's and O's from character. You haven't done that.

Huh? Everyone knows the coaches play who they like and cut or bench the ones who don't. That's been the M.O. for the longest. I mean the fact ty craw starts, jeff heath starts, and both are captains are evidence enough.

Name one first round draft pick the Cowboys have cut befire his third year. Name one they have cut at all before their rookie contract was up. Name one first round pick the Cowboys haven't given every possible chance. Hell, second round picks too for that matter Name anyone that is even remotely similar to Taco's situation.

The standard has always been with draft picks, and especially very high draft picks, to give them every chance under the sun, and then some even after it appears it isn't working out. The lifeblood of this team has been the draft. Almost every starter on offense and defense was a draft pick. The Cowboys do not toss them aside lightly.

Of course there is some underlying influence with all of us that is colored by who we like personally, but highly competitive people and people who's jobs depend on being competitive don't just throw the good out and keep their buddies. That's nonsense. A team couldn't win games at all, much less make the playoffs, if that was the MO.
