I personally want to thank you for taking the time to do all these evaluations and write your findings here! I'm sure it's much appreciated by many of us.

Anything you see on tape ever negative? Or do we just have 53 All -PRO players?I did a quick review of all snaps played by Trysten Hill against the Dolphins.
He played 47% of the snaps which was 5th in snaps played by a DLineman.
He has a very high "motor" as we saw in the preseason. He is constantly moving.
The 1st thing I noticed is that he played significant snaps at 1-tech; whereas, he only played 3-tech DT in the preseason. Generally he played 3-tech when the other DT was Covington and played 1-tech when the other DT was not Covington (Starting 1-tech Woods was out).
It is good that they are developing a 3-tech DT that they play at 1-tech DT as opposed to all of DEs they played at 3-tech like Crawford that are really too small at DT.
Hill flashed a few times getting into the backfield and showed his athleticism looping around the outside to crunch the QB on that one play where the QB had moved outside to his right and threw the ball just as Hill ran over him.
He did get blown up by double-teams a couple of times but they didn't draft him to play 1-tech and take on double teams. There was one double team late where he did look silly but he at least occupied the 2 blockers which does help somebody else.
There were a few plays where Hill was double teamed but the other DT was single blocked. That's a good sign.
Hill got his hand on the QB before the hand-off on that play in the redzone where they had an H-Back block him (The play where FS Thompson blew up the RB). They had run the same play earlier and the H-Back was able to get a good block on him the 1st time. On the one in the redzone, he was very close to blowing that up right at the hand-off but was off just a few inches to the side.
Summary: Hill is still very raw but is better right now than last year's 4th DT Daniel Ross, IMO.
He played 31 snaps and jumped out twice. He has no bull rush at all.
But he will be good at both looping stunts and slashing stunts. It just so happens that the Cowboys haven't been calling as many of those stunts as they did last year. Thanks to the Rams.
Trysten accomplished nothing on that play. Had Thompson not shed his block and made the tackle, it would have been a wide open TD run up the middle. Trysten would have done better to contain and plug up the middle, instead of rushing right past the ball carrier. Then again, shooting the gaps has always been Marinelli's way.

Yeah I see a lot of praise for that play lol.
He literally was unblocked.
They ran the same play earlier and the H-back slammed into him from the side and actually did box him out.
This time Hill wanted to get to the QB before the H-back could get over. Hill stayed low to avoid getting hit in the side by the H-back.
It's rare to see a DT touch the QB before the hand-off and it's not uncommon for a DT to be unblocked at times. Aaron Donald is one of the few DTs that I've seen with the quickness to get to the QB before the hand-off on these types of plays where the offense tries to use the DT's burst into the backfield against him.
We often saw David Irving get trapped so far away from the QB/RB on those types of plays that he was in another area code.
Maybe the OP is really RJ Ochoa in real life? You took this directly from

From the article:
Hill didn’t look like an All-Pro or even a really good player during his Cowboys debut, but he looked like someone who has talent that is worth mining and trying to figure out. That’s what Rod Marinelli liked so much about him after all.
