Jesse Holley Question

It was the post game show after Week 1. It was about scoring points. I can't remember who was on which side of the argument but one side said it was reasonable that Dallas could score in the 30s seemingly every game and the other side didn't think so at all. I want to say Jesse said this offense could do that. It was a pretty heated argument. Some said Jesse got mad and walked off the set for a few segments to calm down (not sure if this is accurate).

I enjoyed Jesse because he told it like it is and was no nonsense. He didn't sugar coat anything like Mickey or Broaddus. They are complete blowhards who are Jerry bootlickers.
I was listening and he was off the air for more than 30 minutes. I think he was fired the next day.

He got into with Mickey on the postgame show after the Giants game about the Cowboys offense needing to average 30 points a game because the top 4 scoring offenses last year: KC, LAR, NE, and NO all made it to the championship game. He said football is about scoring and the Cowboys need to do that in order to go far. Mickey said that the Cowboys don't necessarily have to do this and that struck a nerve with Jesse who basically told him he doesn't know what he's talking about and that he's done talking to Mickey.
They went at it as soon as Mickeys segment started. Obviously had been building up.

One of the problems I thought with Jessie Holley is he will bash Cowboys players.. and even Cowboys fans at times, just to try to make it look like he doesn’t have a Cowboys bias
But it can get overboard to such ex-Cowboy players (ala Charles haley) felt irritated and annoyed enough to called in and in turn bash Holley himself.
And Holley will say some stunners such as … “ Saquon Barkley was a reach by the Giants

That Charles Haley call in was hilarious, wish I had the audio of that exchange.

That is what I was saying. Some said he walked off the set after that spat with Mickey. And that is what got him fired. Not the spat itself. But he just left his co-host alone abruptly. I stopped listening after that spat so I didn't see what transpired after that. I would hope a radio station wouldn't fire a host for getting into a debate, no matter who it was against. Gavin Dawson challenged Jerry and Garrett on different instances.

I've heard Mickey taking shots at Jessie Holley before Jessie even started working at dc.com. I remember a fan brought up something Jesse said on a postgame show about Garrett and Mickey said Jesse doesn't know what he's talking about. I was like I think Jessie was inside the locker room Mickey he should know what's going on. I don't think Mickey ever respected the way Jessie made the team.

What is the difference in how Jesse made the team and any undrafted free agent ala Romo?

I used to listen to him all the time on 105.3, he makes good points here and there as most people could do, but his voice is annoying and he thinks he’s above criticism. He didn’t “make it” to the NFL, he won a game show and was handed a roster spot. Good for him, I just don’t respect it.

He did make it to the NFL. Whether or not you respect it is irrelevant and means nothing. He's gotten onto an NFL field and even made a huge catch in OT in 2011. What have you did? Not to mention how seasoned of an athlete he was in college. He played basketball at the D1 level as well for a blue blood program. I chuckle at couch potatoes criticizing how an athlete made the league. Romo was undrafted. He only stayed around being Quincy Carter was arrested. Otherwise he was going to be cut. Do you not respect that either?

If Michael Irving and Nate Newton pick you out from a crowd of potentials, you must have something or at least a few skills. Yes, he didn't play long but, he got to play and Romo
trusted him at least once.

I don’t respect it, and whether or not you like my opinion means less than nothing to me. Good for him, he won a game show and Jerry gave him a roster spot for a year, good for him, it was too gimmicky for my taste and I was glad when the circus left. As for your ridiculous Romo take, it’s not even worth arguing over because you’re comparing apples to bowling balls, and I think you know that, you’re just looking for something to argue about.

I said good for him, he was handed a roster spot because he won a game show. It was embarrassing to me, my opinion.

It was Jesse who said the offense should. I think the Fan fired him because of it. He tweeted something Sunday in relation to Antonio Brown being fired. I do like him too. Mickey is very arrogant to anyone he comes across-except his idol Jason Garrett. Broaddus isn't as bad.

Mickey is a ******. Poor writer. Poor analysis. A shill.

Jesse Holley is no longer on Cover 4. He was replaced by Barry Church this season. So I think all he does is the podcast with Nate Newton.
Thanks. Didn’t notice that about Cover 4. Haven’t watched it in awhile

This is an actual quote from Mickey during the preseason. Do you see the words "Super Bowl" in there? He acts like they won three of them from 2003-2009...

"But here is what the Cowboys are trying to do this season, the ninth under Jason Garrett’s jurisdiction. Come up with four consecutive winning seasons, something they haven’t done since five straight winning seasons from 2005-09. Come up with five winning seasons over a six-year period, there best string of success since those six winning seasons over seven years from 2003-09. Qualify for the playoffs in back to back seasons, something they have not done since 2006-07. Qualify for the playoffs for the third time in five years, something they haven’t done since three times in four years from 2006-09."

--------Mickey is critical on the team when deserved.

Name one instance when he has jumped out front and been critical of a player or the organization. ***Tapping fingers on desk waiting somewhat patiently for response***

Never heard of a time. Usually gets pissy at the host/fan who asks the question.
