Our best defense last night came by the refs. IMO

Our defense never tightened up til the redzone and even then it relied on several holding calls on Saints online to kill their drives.

All i am saying is dline is weak at the point of attack and it showed. Need to be more aggressive and tighten up against the run. The confusion saints played and the ability of Kamara was killing our defense.

you act like they got ran over. kamara had 69 yards on 4.1 ypc. the team as a whole had 117. there were like two solid runs, the 12 yard carry from kamara that was followed by the 16 yarder from taysom. that's really it.

Kamara had 69 yards on 17 carries. Saints gained 266 total yards and scored 12 points. That should be more than enough to win.

The offense was ineffective for all but one drive.

24 minutes of possession
45 yards rushing
2 turnovers (technically 3 counting the last play)
10 points

Good luck winning with that output.

They didn't accidentally not give up a Touchdown..

The bend don't break is frustrating at times but the reality is they gave up 12 points on the road. Great game by them.

While I agree somewhat, this defense got hung out to dry by the offense a few times. I saw this defense battle and the pass rush looked good and then offense goes 3 and out running the ball into a brick wall and the defense couldn’t catch a moment to get their strength back.

If they were weak, why did the Saints need to hold them?

I agree. Would Woods have made a difference? The LBs played better keeping some of those runs from being big plays but the Saints were able to break off 4 yards or more at a time. That last drive was a killer. The Cowboys knew they were going to run and yet, the holes were there and they moved the chains just running the football. I think last night highlighted two things. First, our offensive line is not as good as we thought it was. Second, our DTs are limited.

I have a question, we have two excellent LBs in Smith and LVE. Would you trade one for an all pro DT, a guy who can stuff the run and bring pressure from the middle of the line? I think if we had the all-pro DT it would make average LBs better. I think the entire front 7 would be better. I am not complaining about the LBs who played great but its the difference between making tackles after 4 or 5 yard runs and making them for no gain. Its about stopping those late game drives to chew up the clock.

When your offense only has the ball for 23 minutes, 3 "3 and out" drives(that totaled out to a whopping 4 minutes, combined!!) and an atrocious 36% 3rd down conversion rate..you're going to have some serious issues winning any ball game. Not to mention turnovers.

Yeah the defense was out on the field way too much, but it wasn't mostly all on them. There was little to no help from our anemic offense.

They bend but don't break.

Dallas Offense couldn't do much and the Saints could do a bit better with possession. That proved to be evident in the 3rd on when the defense could finally stop them, after 2-3 first downs and time eaten off the clock.

If the Saints didn't hold as much maybe Dallas would of had more sacks.

:hammer:

yup too many third down conversions allowed and TOP gave up..the offense was fpor sure worse BUT they shortened the game by keeping the ball and opportunity's for more offensive possessions..

its been an issue all year.. its time to make change to more aggressive D..the bending is much to far then its been.you cant win championship with this type of D IMO..

Defense played ok but the Cowboys have some serious issues with RBs that run between the tackles. Those 2 first down on the Saints final drive were killer and the run defense brought me back to the Rams game seeing that the whole stadium knows it is a run but the Cowboys can't stop it.

I know that the Cowboys are missing a big DT to clog up the middle but the LBs are playing too far away from the LOS that the running back will get at least 4 yards unless they blitz.

Imagine typing "defense had to rely on several offensive line holding calls" and then calling the "defensive line weak" as if the Saints were just holding them for the fun of it.

Forest. Meet trees.
