A DT like Malcolm Brown would do wonders

The biggest problem on both sides of the ball is the lack of a true run stuffing DT.

Going to the Saints game, if the DT could have stopped the run then there would have been better field position and more time for the final drove.

yesterday, a good DT doesn’t allow Aaron Jones to score 4 TDs and keeps the game closer until the offense got things going in the 2nd half.

I have been the ultimate players matter more than coaches, but I will say the scheme that doesn’t believe in a true 1T stud is mind blowing.

we "play the run on the way to the quarterback" - it's been that way since Rod got here.

We also clap a lot.

Isn't watching Jason Garrett led teams fun??

I'm ready to put Jason Garrett down there with Wade Phillips in my signature. Please fire that man.

Malcolm brown wouldnt do anything here its the scheme

just run up field to the qb and if you see a rb with the ball tackle him but its not a priority

Play the run on the way to QB,

Teams adjusted to this in 1999, 20 years back

How is briniging in the Rams back up running back is going to improve our DLine?

I don't know. I am not sure the gap shooting DL works all the time. Looked like they whiffed a lot. & then the DL stunts were so slow that Rogers just burned them. They need help on the DL. That is certain.

Garrett is worse than Wade

At least Wade is a great DC, Garrett is not a competent coach at any position

Playing the run on the way to the QB would be fine if they made any headway getting to the QB! But the DTs do not get any consistent push in the middle. The get pushed out of the way.

Go all in....save this season! I offer a package of the next 2 year's 1st rounders to the Jets for Jamal Adams and Leonard Williams. Those 2 make this underachieving, below average defense to an elite one over night. I really do feel this way, just those 2 players alone. We won't find 2 better defenders in the drafts over the next 2 seasons, when will be drafting most likely 24-32 range.

We place too much value on Rod Marinelli's opinion and he likes his Defensive Linemen to get to the QB. Or allegedly that is the idea except in practice it rarely happens.

Two gap shooting DT's playing at the same time = a major weakness in the middle of your D. Which means the LB's have to constantly crash in and take on huge blockers. It's a complete mess.

What's funny about this is that we play run on the way to the QB but can't really get to the QB either.

So what exactly are we doing?

Seems to me like the interior DL is an issue and has been for a while. Why doesn't Jerry Jones, the GM, see this too? This emphasis on rushing the QB from the DE position is frustrating to me. We draft and draft DEs and LBs but no DTs. Then we wonder why the inside of the defense is soft.
