A DT like Malcolm Brown would do wonders

The biggest problem on both sides of the ball is the lack of a true run stuffing DT.

Going to the Saints game, if the DT could have stopped the run then there would have been better field position and more time for the final drove.

yesterday, a good DT doesn’t allow Aaron Jones to score 4 TDs and keeps the game closer until the offense got things going in the 2nd half.

I have been the ultimate players matter more than coaches, but I will say the scheme that doesn’t believe in a true 1T stud is mind blowing.
The Saints barely broke 100 yards rushing with 5 different guys carrying the ball and had no rushing TDs. Bad example! Saquan had 120 yards on 12 carries...

Have no clue why we didn't go after him in the offseason, ditto for snacks Harrison last year. A good GM/coach would identify the problem and fix it. Not us though.

I'll be honest with you guys. I've been against our current idea of not using an impact DT but I've watched us do this for years. I'm just tired of banging my head against the wall on this. We just aren't going to do it. Every year, we see the same thing. Team is going to do what they are going to do.

We have a run stuffing NT but his name is Antwuan Woods and he was injured yesterday. Dallas has only gotten killed by RBs in two games (this one and the Rams) and both times it was when Woods was out for most or all of the game.

Ok, and since he's been injury prone his entire career, it's really really dumb not to have a quality backup.

The guy is a solid backup. Have mercy on us if we think an average guy like Woods is going to make a significant difference.

Colts game last year Mack ran for 27 CAR, 139 YDS, 2 TD.

The last two Giants games Barkley eclipsed 100 yards rushing.

It's not just two games but it's not every game too. The run D cannot fall apart just because of one injury to the dline. Just like the oline cannot fall apart because of one injury (Smith) and the WRs as well (Gallup). We were told this is the deepest team since the 90's so they should be doing better handling these injuries.

You are so late on this. I posted Brown to be a priority FA for the Cowboys with Texas ties and 2 Super Bowl Rings. However, we have a GM that only wants country club members only. Malcom Brown has no reason to kiss Jerry's old rings when he has 2 new ones of his own.

He has one season in the NFL where he played every game in the regular season, then got hurt in the 18th game of the season. That makes him "injury prone"?

Thank goodness we have Marinelli and his “rushmen”.

It's not just two games but it's not every game too.

Its "every game" but we had the 6th best rushing defense last year. How does that work?

Barkley gets 100 yards in almost every game where he has more than 15 carries. He averaged 6.4 yards per carry this year and had seven 100 yard games last year playing behind a garbage OL.

and here's that misleading " 6th best run defense " stat again - but yet even with Antuwann Woods starting, we still had 5-6 games ON THE ROAD where the opponent ran for over 100 yards.
At home, its' a different story (at least in 2018 it was) , with only Tennessee being only team that gained 100 yrd rushing - but on the road ...

Go all in....save this season! I offer a package of the next 2 year's 1st rounders to the Jets for Jamal Adams and Leonard Williams. Those 2 make this underachieving, below average defense to an elite one over night. I really do feel this way, just those 2 players alone. We won't find 2 better defenders in the drafts over the next 2 seasons, when will be drafting most likely 24-32 range.

Adams would be huge but he isn't going anywhere. There is also a reason Williams is on the trading block. He hasn't been very good. All the Jets fans I know would do backflips if they could manage to get a 3rd back for him.

How is the stat misleading? Show your work, if it goes against your narrative it doesn't mean its misleading.

And "the opponent ran for over 100 yards" is dumb metric to use. 25 out of 32 NFL teams last year AVERAGED giving up 100 yards or more rushing each game.
