At least he didn't say we're spoiled because of JG and we just don't know what a good thing we have. lol

I’m old enough to remember Clint Murchison, the Cowboys original owner, who spoiled us as fans by letting the football men he hired- who later all became HOFers- GM Schramm, HC Tom Landry and Talent Scout Gil Brandt, actually run the football side of things.

That’s the team that made Dallas “America’s Team” and the real people who “spoiled” Cowboys fans with consistent success we haven’t seen around here since the 90s.

Or. Bring in ANOTHER KICKER. Garrett will be going for it a lot more on 4th and goal. Watch. Papa Jerry has spoken
LIKE WHO?

Why do people keep saying this? The available kickers range from bad to terrible.

..Jerry was spoiled winning 3 SB's early on. Then reality kicked in, like hard labor.

Well, I can think of someone who's never been on an NFL roster, but is one of the best in Japan. It wouldn't be hard to try him out.

Jerry is not entirely wrong here, in fact, he is pretty accurate.

First of all, he knows that our kicker sucks. The fact that he recognizes this is actually good. Second, there are not a lot of kickers on the street right now that are any good. I mean, the Titans just released their kicker last week and they signed the dude from Chicago that missed the kick in the playoffs for the Bears. Yeah, that dude was the best of the street free agents so Jerry is not necessarily wrong in basically saying that there is not anybody else better to bring in.

So what does this mean going forward? I think it means that you are going to see the team go for it more on 4th down, especially like 4th and 1. The thinking is that the odds of converting a 4th and 1 with Zeke is probably the same or higher than Maher making the kick.

I just love how we always wait till like week 6 in the season to suddenly discover glaring weaknesses that should have been addressed way sooner. Last year it was WR, this year it is the kicker.

This is just a lazy way of saying they don't care. If they really cared they would at least have a tryout session to indicate they are not satisfied with Maher's production.

Instead they basically say we were spoiled by pre-injury Bailey. Brilliant motivational tactic.

Well, or he isnt willing to think outside the box, because there are very good kickers in international leagues like Japan. Why not try them? Australian punters became a thing after Drew Bennett was with the Chargers. We had our own in Matt McBriar who was very good for us for a long time. So, why not try the same idea with Japanese kickers, for example? Surely, they would be much better than Maher. And they are available to sign now.

That or stubborn. Cuz there are ways to fix the problem now that are within NFL rules (itd be no different than poaching a chap from the CFL). Jerry just needs to think outside the box and get a but creative. Lest we forget that this is the same franchise (though, Landry came up with the idea) that brought in an Austrian footballer to play kicker and revolutionized the kicking position.

Jerry's butthurt because we say the same thing about him.

We were spoiled before Jimmy was fired. Now we have to overdraft to compensate.

This is a terrible precedent. Demand excellence from every player. You weren’t spoiled, things were going according to plan.
