42 year old Tom Brady very successfully runs the QB sneak, why not Dak!

Tom Brady: 274 career games, 1000 career rushing yards

Dak Prescott: 53 career games, 1066 career rushing yards

That has nothing to do with not having a QB sneak play in your offense for short yardage situations.

But it's not just Dallas. Too many teams run handoffs out of shotgun in short yardage and I laugh every time they get stuffed in the backfield.

they still need to run the QB sneak. Something they rarely do. Most of those yards are either taking off when there’s nothing there or RPOs. Doesn’t really tell the story on clutch short yardage situations. Brady uses this a lot and excels at it.

Away games you don't even have to worry about the RPO, so DC don't have to worry about that then.

Of course they should sneak it more. You have a big strong qb behind one of the strongest and best C/G combos in the league. Who knows why they don't do it.

Maybe Garrett just doesn't believe in it. Remember Switzer had to install the play when he became coach because Norv and Zampese didn't use it.

Dallas won’t do a QB sneak as long as there is a stud RB on this team......another sign of a coaching problem
exactly, and back in the romo days they had some failures at it so stopped, so JG probably
doesnt like it.
It does seem simple but it has to be done right by the center and qb, and evidently dak
isnt too good at it, and does not feel he should overide the other call and just do it.
Maybe once he signs a big contract he will, but even then who knows.

I agree it should be used, but then they should do and not do a lot of other things too ! lol

Might be a couple things. First of all it’s probably more surprising than if Dak did it since he’s always a threat with his legs. And Brady is skinny. Notice how he maneuvered under and around his OL to get in. Dak is a big stout guy. Hard for him to sneak in under the pile.

Daks to fat to do that

Big discrepancy, no doubt. Not sure it answers the question, but you have highlighted a significant difference.

Brady May be the best QB at the sneak ever. It’s not just the line...he’s done it his entire career behind good and average lines. Brady always goes with a quick snap, but he doesn’t just lower his head blindly and push. He slides down the line and feels for the area where the push is. Sometimes he scores over center-guard, but sometimes, like last night, he actually sneaks all the way out where the OT has pinched down.

Zeke behind Martin and Fred is a better option than a QB sneak. So is Dak on an option play.

This is funny because I wouldn't have expected it but Dallas was 27th in the NFL in 4th down conversions this year. But New England is dead last at 32nd.

Yet here they are at 6-0. ;)

Last year vs the Rams in the playoffs our season basically ended late in the 4th quarter. On 4th and I, Dak turned and handed the ball to Zek who was 7 yards behind the LOS at the start of the play. Of course Zek was stuffed by Donaldson, Suh and half the Rams D. The QB sneak was wide open. A replay of the play shows a yard and a half gap between the 2 defenders on the left side of the center. Dak would have made the 4th down conversion easily by slanting slightly to the left on a QB sneak!!
Why doesn’t Dak run the QB sneak WAY more often on 3rd or 4th and 1. Brady is successful running the QB sneak on 3rd or 4th and 1 over 90% of the time. Dak is much more powerful than a 42 year old Brady. If the QB sneak is good enough for NE on 3rd or 4th and 1, how come it is not good enough for us? NE’s favorite play vs the Giants this Thursday was the basic QB sneak. It was successful EVERY time too!!
We don't do it because we want to justify having the top paid RB and top paid O-Line.

Because Tom Brady has been coached by the greatest coach to ever coach.

Because Garrett is a clueless idiot. What more can you ask for.
so its JG fault even thought Zeke made the first down and a bad call saying he fumbled took it away? we all saw it was NOT a fumble.. the refs once again made a bad call, so in that instance it worked..

Therein lies the problem, we have a stupid staff. Don't care if you have the great Jim Brown back there, 4th and 1 and you have a back standing 7 to 8 yards deep, why not a qb sneak. Difference in a great smart staff and a inept staff.

the 3rd and 1 4th and 1 from Brady is automatic when he sneaks, not talking about scrambling total yards here
