In my opinion, Garrett doesn't have a whole lot of involvement in what the coordinators are doing. Given his own past struggles, he's been systematically removed from that level of involvement. While he might be nurse-mailing young Kellen Moore through some of the steps of being a young coordinator, I don't think he has all that much of a voice.

And on gamedays, he's a spectator, watching the game like the rest of us, just with a closer view.
As a player. How can you respect someone like that. Knowing there just a figure a face on the field. That may be the problem right there in a bucket

I think you just might have said it best. Where they are afraid to hurt people's feelings. Has Jerry got something going on his head . After Jimmy Johnson. You never know

wake up buddy
They’re not doing it so they don’t anybody’s feelings, they’re doing it so they will always have convenient scapegoats to appease fans and media and they will escape the blame

gotta pay attention

He talks to literally no one during the game. I mean, every time they show him on TV he’s just watching like the rest of us.
I’ve been saying this a while. I’ll say it again.

Other coaches talk to players, talk to other coaches, talk on the headset to whoever, and talk to refs—often. Not just when your team got screwed.

Garrett seemingly stares, does his famous clap, and converses when guys run past him to the bench.

I really wonder if he knows what he should be doing and that’s why he claps. To hide that he feels lost.

Watch Belicheck or many others. They appear to be trying to figure something out. Watching inquisitively.
Garrett literally stares, spits, and chews with one expression.

Help me out here people. The head coach, during the week, isn't he responsible for putting a game plan in place with the help of his coordinators. And possibly players. Different packages. With different personnel. Isn't he responsible for putting a game plan in place for the defense also.. Or does he simply let individual coaches have the freedom to do what they want. I'm trying to understand who's accountable for the offensive line penalties. Or other miscommunications. Who are the true leaders of this team.

He is not. He should be but when they stripped him of his OC duties so while he has more input now he's really just here to motivate players and deflect media. Garrett let's coaches coach, and that would be ok if he is also able to hold them accountable which i'm not sure he could fire Marinelli, he couldn't fire Linehan when he wanted too.

This is the problem with moving on from Garrett too. Would they give full control of the team, players and coaches to the next head coach that they have less of a relationship with?

good question.

jasonG seems to delegate everything to the 3 coordinators.

You are missing the middle ground. The HC doesn't personally create the game plans, but neither does he stand aside and have nothing to say about them. The OC and DC create the game plans, but review film and discuss the opponent with the HC in advance, and then go over it with the HC after, so everyone is in agreement with the approach going into preparing the game plan and the product that is created.

....JG almost got a heart attack throwing that flag down on the ref. The guy is leaf floater. Never gets mad, doesn't get in anyone's face. He's like a Christian coach.

Garrett is the Micheal Landon of Little house on the Prairie.

thats the beauty of this model that Jerry and Jason have put in place, “everyone is involved” so no one is accountable
I like how you put that and it's true, but I can't help but think that if we don't have a good year Jerry is running out of excuses for the Red Ball Express..

They do everything by committee and if Jo Bob and Jr are in town they decide. Otherwise Garrett puts his stamp on things.

Perfect recipe for winning a championship.

NOT!
