1. Wear a headset but NEVER talk into it.
2. Stare helplessly at the field for 3 hours each week.
3. Clap when we fumble or punt.
4. Pat some butts as we go 3-and-out.
5. Spit.
6. Giggle and Smile and congratulate the opposing coach when they destroy us.
7. Tell the press we will review the tape.

NEXT WEEK: repeat
NEXT MONTH: repeat
NEXT YEAR: repeat

It's so frustrating seeing him giggle and smile while congratulating the opposing coach after we lose. And he frustrates the hell out of me the way he gives the same boring response to every single question. That's ok when you have a resume to back it up, but Garrett has done nothing. I know he gains nothing by saying something different but man is it frustrating.

I'm sure he talks to the team differently but we really have no idea. I'm sure if he gives them this same crap, it gets old real quick and does nothing to inspire them.

Garrett probably has plenty of organizational influence. The fact the Garrett family has been entrenched in the organization is enough proof of this fact. Even guys like Linehan were brought in via Garrett and so was Cassell. The fact the Cowboys went back and got Kitna is another example.

And what does that say? Linnehan is UNEMPLOYED right now and Garrett brought him in and wasted players careers. You think some players don’t see this or talk about this? What winning team fires an offensive coordinator and that coordinator can’t even get a job anywhere else.

I’ve been bashing Garrett since 2008 and been saying he’s the worst decision Jerry has ever made in setting this organization back, And ruining the prime careers of talented players along the wat. I’m not defending him.

Linehan HAD a job before coming here and it was as his experience in Dallas that most likely has kept him out of a job, unless he decided to retire.

That being said, Linehan was far better than Garrett ever was as a play-caller and the only reason Linehan was brought in, was because Garrett’s offense would have changed completely. Linehan had the connection with Garrett via Miami and the offensive coaching trees were the ‘same’. First, Callahan was given control by Jerry and Garrett kept interfering, per Jerry’s own words, and sabotaging it, so Jones basically went with Jason and brought in Linehan. Jones specifically said this and further, said he didn’t want Garrett touching the offense.

It is a testament to Callahan’s work on the RG and OL that it took him only one year to get in the graces of Jerry that the latter actually experimented with him as a play caller.

But. Jerry’s decisions with regards to coordinators has been in regards to changing play-callers, not changing the complete offense, at least as far as Garrett has been HC these last few years. Garrett obviously maneuvered the situation in this manner. If the offense was completely revamped, then Garrett’s would be completely rendered “useless”.

This is why I think Garrett was a big reason behind Dak starting over Romo, because Romo post new-contract was shifting the power dynamic even more.

Remember, this is also the same Jerry who went 3-4, back to 4-3 on defense, but always defended Garrett’s role in the offense. It took Garrett multiple years of failure and Romo’s new contract for Jerry to start inserting himself between Garrett and the play-calling.

Yet, Garrett still remains despite all this. This still is telling that Garrett has significant influence in the organization. Any other person would have been fired. Jerry was extremely close to Jason’s father, Jim Garrett and the latter along with Lacewell were very influential in the 20 plus year disasters. Jim and Larry has to retire when Parcells came, but showed up once again after Bill retired.

The Moore hire was basically to scapegoat Linehan, while retaining the offense. Jerry got a new play-caller in the SAME OFFENSE. Moore was brought here from Detroit by Linehan, was kept as the QB to run the practice squad and the offense by Linehan and Linehan even wanted Moore to start but Garrett wanted a veteran QB like Cassel. And Garrett got what he wanted.

Jerry post 2016, feels he can retain his golden boy and the offense, while just changing coordinators. This is why he consistently talks now about adjustments and play calling.

Garrett still has influence. Even a couple weeks back, Jerry pointed at Moore’s play calling needing to adjust, while absolving the HC. If one pays close attention, Jerry always subtly shifts blame to others from Garrett. He always is the first to yell “you see how great he is” if Garrett does something like successfully challenge a bad Call.

Jerry was just this year saying Garrett would have five offers if he was available.

If all of this is true :(
