Dak current salary might represent his true value but are we OK having him lead us to one FG after another FG?

Id rather pay a great QB a boatload of money but thats not happening. Thats why we need to build a better defense around an average qb. Not worth paying average guys big money for nothing. We need to do a better job of finding decent qb's. The jags, steelers, and panthers have undrafted rookies playing as good as our 4th year guy.

We or better yet Jerry has to bite the bullet and admit his Dak mistake and like other teams come draft time sell the house for a Top QB prospect cause it's clear as day we are going nowhere with Dak Friendly!

Regardless of where Dak was drafted. He one of the least of our worries. You don’t see him getting drilled because the blocking isn’t very good. You don't See our soft D giving up a late FG which forces us to try the 2 point conversion after we score our last TD. So many issues besides Dak!!!!

When Zeke got shut down, we always lose, when Dak plays poorly, sometime we still can win.

If anybody thinks he is getting a contract without a deep playoff run (which I doubt they even go to playoffs cause eagles are better than them. It takes more than a pure passer or good qb oz.
I give you GB, they won in 2010 with a great defense, and now 9 years later have never been back to a SB, much less won another one.
And they have the celebrated rodgers who many say is the best.
It starts with a very good HC and good Assistant coaches. So right off Dallas is out as far as SB's are concerned.
The bad news is that jerry thinks HC's are not important , and that he can build a team that any coach can win with (500 remember?)

That's the story. Dak and the Cowboys are close to signing a deal together that makes Dak the man for a long time. Does he eat up an elite status portion of the cap that makes it difficult to add talent around him as time goes on?

So should every ball thrown be dead on accurate because if that's the case why bother having receivers?

I wouldn’t say not a problem. He’s not the only problem but he is a problem. Coaching is a huge issue, as is the defense...but he is one of the least talented at an important position on the team.

lol, typical bs answer. The defense has given up 17, 21, 6, 12, 34 and 24 points. That's really not bad. Not in today's NFL. The problem is the offense and there are multiple problems there.

The offensive line has not been near as dominate as it was Zeke's Rookie year. Could be the departure of the O-Line coach?
Dak has never been consistently accurate and that is just a fact.
The Head Coach is Jerry's "Yes" man and unless the Owner, President and General Manager changes his "hand's on" philosophy, this team will be stuck with second/third tier head coaches.

Did you forget about 2016. The truth of the matter is, the Cowboys believed their off season headlines.
The disease of me got this team. All throughout the off season, everyone got paid because they all "deserved it."
Kellen Moore will revolutionize the game. We will be playing at 10pm pacific on a blue field.
We all know the problem. I wish there was an easy way to back to some of my own posts and just cut and paste. The root cause is always the same. A culture that accepts being average. All the players know Jerry is the guy and ultimately they don't respect the coach.

-This defense plays its best when it plays less than 30 minutes. 2016 season
-We need balance to this offense. Dak has gotten better but don't just fall in love with the pass. Look how Houston neutralized Mahomes and company this past weekend. Look at how the Pats won the second half of last year and the SB.
-Have to fix mental mistakes. There is no reason why the drops are happening or the poor o-line play.
-Be smart about 4th down conversion. JG needs to have a feel for how the team is playing before going for each 4th down. Think about it if we had kicked a FG on that 4th and two QB read option fail, we win the game.
-Only way to playoffs is to win the division.

Again, I don't know what people have to see before they stop acting dumber than a fan can possibly be and just admit Prescott is an Alex Smith clone.

This is a QB you are ALWAYS looking for a replacement for. He's middling, he's never elite, he's never going to get you to the big dance. We missed our chance on winning a SB with him while his contract was cheap and not putting elite all around him because that's exactly what he'll need to win it all in this league. Stars would have to align, defense would have to be the best. It's easier to find your franchise QB in this league than it is to build a top 3 defense and keeping that defense together and not have it tore apart in FA.

It's time to move on and fans need to get a freakin' grip. This is getting embarrassing now.

Agree on the missed opportunity. The sad part is the FO didn't even know they missed their chance at a SB. Our FO is a day late a dollar short every single time.
When us fans and media started the narrative of " having a great QB on a rookie contract is the biggest advantage in pro sports" is when Jerry and Stephen started paying attention.
The Eagles, Hawks actually took advantage while we will be in a Goff type situation. At least the Rams got a SB and have a competent HC.
Where does that leave us?
Dak is better than a bus driver, but he is not elite. Please dont fool yourselves. I always thought we should have paid him Foles money over the offseason but how the narrative is 34+ million or bust.
We see with our own eyes that paying guys like Goff is idiotic but we will pay Dak just a bit more. If we want to keep Dak I think we have not choice but to pay him 30 million. Getting a QB is hard I agree. Just ask the Bucs & Titans. I'm glad we don't have those clowns. l
